LaloFit Giveaway Winner is Looking Forward to Fit and Healthy Mornings

Fitness

LalofitThat's Fit was lucky enough to have a copy of the LaloFit workout DVD to give away to one lucky reader. LaloFit is such a great workout -- it's a challenging strength and conditioning routine designed by Lalo Fuentes. I've been doing the routine for a few weeks now and I'm already starting to see changes in my body. What's more, at the end of the 55-minute routine, I also feel like I had a great cardio workout.

We had a lot of response to our LaloFit giveaway, and the lucky winner is cheriescc. She says, "Working out with a DVD is the closest I can get to having a personal trainer. It is nice getting to tap into the expertise of different fitness experts. It gives me the ability to keep my exercise routine varied. I like being able to get up first thing in the morning, pop in a DVD and get my workout done. That way, even if everything else goes wrong in the day, at least I got my workout in."

Congratulations, cheriescc! Enjoy your new workout. If you missed the giveaway or your name wasn't drawn, be sure check out the LaloFit website and order your own copy.

Our Shapewear Winner Had a Healthy Valentine's Day

Reviews & Products

dr rey shapewearI had a blast reading all of the comments you left in last week's Fit Beauty giveaway -- you shared your Valentine's Day plans with me, and, for the most part, you kept it clean!

While I'm sure many of you would make great use of the Enell Sports Bra and Dr. Rey Shapewear, there can only be one lucky winner. And, that lucky winner is Jocelyn, whose Valentine's Day plans included hiking in the afternoon and coming home to a dinner of scallops and squash.

Those of you who didn't win can still get your own undergarment goodies, ranging from sports bras to sexy shapewear, at Bare Necessities.

STOTT PILATES Giveaway Winner - Sure Beats Chasing Puppies

Fitness

Stott Pilates DVDYour comments for last week's STOTT PILATES® Fit Beauty Giveaway certainly gave me some great ideas for fitting in fitness at home. I loved how so many of you incorporated squats and lunges into your daily housekeeping, and there were tons of other really creative workouts as well.

However, as always, there can only be one randomly selected winner, and this time around, it was Jennifer, who says her most creative at-home workout is, "[t]rying to wear out my year-old puppy by running in circles around the living room. I tire out before she does." That's a workout with which I'm very familiar. Also in my repertoire -- leg kicks holding a toy for the dog and push-ups with a puppy climbing on my back. Makes for a real challenge.

Jennifer will receive two STOTT PILATES® DVDs, which will no doubt be a wonderful addition to her at-home fitness routine. Thank you all for entering, and be sure to come back next Monday for another fabulous giveaway -- I'll be looking forward to reading all of your comments!

Yummie Tummie Giveaway Winner

Fitness

Yummie TummieYou should all give yourselves a pat on the back -- you shared some wonderful New Year's resolutions in last week's Fit Beauty Giveaway, and you definitely inspired me! It's great to hear that many of you have goals related to being happier and healthier, rather than just focusing on fitting into a pair of jeans.

However, there's nothing wrong with wanting to look a little slimmer and trimmer, too, which is why I'm so happy to announce our winner for the Yummie Tummie tank -- it's Corinne, who resolves to "use the Wii Fit to sneak in a workout after my 4-year-old goes to bed ... [t]he Wii Fit is so cool I see it as a game rather than a chore." She was also motivated by seeing this year's Christmas photos, and her new Yummie Tummie tank will certainly help her look and feel fabulous as she reaches her goals!

If you're feeling kinda jealous that you didn't win, don't worry -- you can still head on over to Bare Necessities and get your own!

The KEEN Footwear Winner Has Really Lucky Feet!

Fashion and Beauty, Reviews & Products

keen footwearCongratulations to Robin, our winner of the KEEN Footwear Giveaway. Robin's about to be given a fancy code which gives her the power to order and own any one thing on the KEENFootwear.com website. Oh man -- she is really lucky!

Robin said she'd love the Winterport boots to keep her feet warm and dry while she pulls her daughter through the snow on her sled. Now she's going to get her chance! I, personally, live in Florida and probably won't ever see snow near my home. But I'd love those boots too! Lucky, lucky Robin.

Thanks to everyone who entered this contest, and keep coming back to That's Fit to enter more! We always seem to have a bunch of giveaways going on, and your odds are way better here than they are in Vegas.

Gracie's Gear Giveaway - We Have a Winner!

Giveaways, Reviews & Products

gracie's gear hoodieWe had a bunch of great entries in last week's Fit Beauty Gracie's Gear Giveaway. Many of you shared hilarious stories about backwards pants and baggy shirts and more, and if I could, I'd give each and every one of you something new and fabulous to wear.

But, I can't. And so, I want to congratulate Kimberly, our Fit Beauty winner, who will be receiving her fabulous Gracie's Gear Hoodie shortly. Poor Kimberly wrote, "When my sisters and I were little, we took a lot of dance classes. Nothing stinks more than having to take off your entire leotard and tights ensemble to use the bathroom - nothing except my mother's solution. My mother cut the leotards at the crotch area and fastened them back together with VELCRO. What do you think happened when we did a cartwheel or back walkover? Yep, you guessed it. Horror."

Sometimes it's good to be on a losing team

Motivation, Nutrition & Supplements

Most people play to win. Otherwise, what's the point of the game? And whether we admit it or not, there's always a part of us that wants to be number one. But each of us has also had to contend with not winning, too. And that's OK.

In fact, it's more than OK -- in a moving article in The New York Times, losing is praised as a necessary and important life lesson. Losing not only teaches us humility but earning our victories the hard way teaches us how valuable it is to dedicate ourselves to something. As columnist John Scwartz points out: "Americans tend to frame things in terms of contests and wars that must be won or lost. Many challenges, however, are about hanging in there and managing a bad situation. Losing prepares you for the slog that is life. The world doesn't give us many finish lines, but it does give us the long run." To read more, click here.

I couldn't agree more. Your thoughts?

Congratulations to Rosie, the lucky winner of a $100 Smoothie King gift card. Rosie, who now gets to cash in her prize in a store near her, entered our giveaway contest by sharing that her healthiest and tastiest smoothie would include: vanilla yogurt, pureed peaches, strawberries, and pineapple juice. Sounds yummy to me.

Thanks to all 29 of you who shared some pretty scrumptious smoothie creations. Some of my favorites:

  • raspberries, strawberries, banana, apple juice, and cranberry nectar
  • strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, vanilla yogurt, and flax seed
  • strawberry, vanilla protein blend, chocolate whey, and almonds
  • ice, mangoes, strawberries, bananas, fresh squeezed Orange Juice, a sprinkle of flax seeds for omega-3s, and a tsp of Agave Nectar as a natural sweetener
