Serena and Venus: Spokeswomen for Oreos?
When is comes to fitness, few are better role models than the Williams sisters, Venus and Serena. The tennis champs embody dedication, perseverance and physical fitness. So how backwards is it that they're now lending their faces to an advertising campaign for junk food? Yes, you heard right. The Williams sisters are now the face of Oreos, and not just plain old regular Oreos -- they're promoting Double Stuff Oreos.
Granted, the campaign seems to be promoting fitness, but eating Oreos isn't exactly going to help you get in peak shape!

I have been both shivering with disgust and giggling my head off all day today. I grabbed the March 31st issue of OK! magazine off the rack at my gym this morning to keep me company as I ran on the treadmill, and I nearly fell off from laughing. Ugly Betty star, Vanessa Williams, admits to having almost smeared urine all over her face in an effort to get rid of acne.
Oh my! Acne is stressful and embarrassing I'm sure, but I think my face would have to be falling off before I considered doing that! Apparently, someone told her that urine cures acne and she almost followed through with it. Her confession suggests she put her valuable "morning urine" in a container, but just couldn't follow through with applying it.

A real vegan bodybuilder
Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Alternative & Green Health
Kenneth G. Williams. That's him in the picture. Pretty big guy. More than just a little ripped. Body builder. Vegan. Wait, what?!? A bodybuilding vegan? That's right.
Williams hasn't always been a vegan, in fact back when he first got started in body building he was very much into the usual fare of meat, eggs, and dairy. But then one day, in the middle of the night, he had "a moment" and has been a vegan ever since.
Just goes to show that you don't need to eat meat to feel "tough" and to be healthy and fit. If you want to eat meat, then by all means go ahead. But if you've been leaning towards vegetarianism or veganism then don't let stereotypes be the thing that holds you back.
She did it! Woman runs marathon in space
Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment, Reviews & Products, Motivation
We first heard about her plans earlier this month, and now Sunita Williams has done it! She successfully ran the Boston Marathon in space yesterday, finishing the 26.2 miles in 4 hours 23 minutes and 46 seconds (or the equivalent of 6,300th place of 7,600 contenders). This story really takes fitness and determination to a whole new level! I think for most of us who commonly use reasons like "I'm tired" and "I'm too busy," the excuse "I'll be in outer space" is a legitimate one. If not being on the planet isn't a good enough reason to skip a workout, then what is?
I'm with Bethany on this one, after hearing this story pretty much all excuses sound totally lame!
Good for you Sunita, way to go.
