Stevie Nicks - 13 Minutes Keeps Her Slim

Diet & Weight Loss, Celebs & Entertainment

Stevie Nicks has dropped the extra weight she's been carrying around since the 80s, and, at 60 years old, the singer is looking slim and sexy and is wearing a size 8. She's currently touring with Fleetwood Mac and feels great, and fortunately, she shared some of her secrets with "People" magazine.

stevie nicksFor one thing, she doesn't blame herself for the weight gain. She was on tranquilizers when she put on the pounds, and acknowledges that the drugs played a major role. Nicks said that, had that not been the case, "I would have stayed at 125 pounds from 1985 and [later on] probably would have weighed about 130 pounds. That would have been way better than fighting to get back to 130 lbs. from 175 lbs." Additionally, she's not feeling pressure to get super skinny: "You don't have to weigh 105 lbs. Weigh 125 lbs. and stay there."

So, how did she lose the weight? She credits her Power Plate workouts, saying, "I do it every other day for 13 minutes. You can't get results faster than that."

    Lisa Rinna

Rinna turned heads and stole the headlines for posing for the May 2009 "Playboy" cover at age 45. In an interview with That's Fit, she explains how she stays in shape after having kids. While she's always been a fan of exercise, being on "Dancing With the Stars" has changed her entire workout philosophy. "Dance is such an overall workout...that also makes you really, really happy... what's more fun than dancing?"

    Demi Moore

If you were a 46-year-old toting around 31-year-old arm candy, you might worry about looking young, or at least try to look your best. But we hear that this actress is willing to drop more than six figures a year to sustain her fit figure -- covering the cost of personal trainers, equipment and Pilates classes, among other things.

    Valerie Bertinelli

After shedding 50 pounds, 48-year-old Bertinelli graced the cover of "People" magazine, clad in a bikini -- for the first time in 20 years. This former teen star and current Jenny Craig spokeswoman ditched the excess weight by cutting calories, running five days a week and doing strength-training exercises with her personal trainer.

    Kathy Ireland

This 46-year-old former "Sports Illustrated" swimsuit model and current CEO, author and mother, recently had a wake-up call that she was carrying some extra weight, from her son of all people. After he told her she looked pregnant, she stepped on the scales to find she'd gained 25 pounds. A friend, who's a personal trainer and nutritionist, helped her plan healthier meals, cut back on snacks and sweets and incorporate three exercise sessions a week. As a result she's lost nearly all of the added pounds.

    Sheryl Crow

This Grammy winner is nearly as famous for her albums as she is for her show-stopping body. When the 46-year-old recently stepped out on the red carpet looking more toned and fit than ever, she shared that her incredible figure was the result of a regimen of yoga, Pilates and P90X workouts.

The sweat-inducing system, created by trainer Tony Horton, is made up of 12 different workouts designed to create "muscle confusion" by introducing new moves to beat boredom and avoid plateaus. There's also a three-phase diet plan that focuses on lean protein, complex carbs and limiting fat.

How does hottie Daniel Craig get Bond buff? It's no surprise that there's a lot of weight lifting in his fitness routine. But for his next Bond venture, the 40-year-old stunning star is mixing up his heavy lifting routine with boxing and running.

Madonna may be single-handedly responsible for helping yoga and Pilates go mainstream. But we're sure the two-hour sessions of dancing and hitting the Hybrid Body Reformer (a pulley-system machine) that she does six times a week don't hurt.

The Jamie Foxx workout doesn't involve exclusive gyms or personal trainers. He keeps it simple. Every morning he does four sets of pushups, situps and crunches. But not all at once, mind you. He breaks up the workout with chores. A set of pushups. Brush teeth. One set of ab exercises. Take a shower. And so on. That way, he doesn't have to make time for exercise, it's just part of his morning routine.

Cindy Crawford's Hot Body Defies Age

Celebs & Entertainment

Cindy CrawfordForty-three is by no means old -- not even close -- but you have to admit that keeping fit doesn't get any easier as we age. Cindy Crawford, however, seems to have put the aging process on hold. She recently stripped down -- completely down -- for the anti-aging section of the latest issue of "Allure" magazine (on newsstands now). And I'll tell you what -- she looked just as good, if not better, than any woman half her age could hope to look.

So what's her secret? Well, she follows a strict skin care routine including "a day cream with antioxidants, a sunscreen, a night cream, and an eye cream," and makes use of microdermabrasion to keep her skin looking flawless.

As far as her fabulous figure, she's said before that she doesn't find time to exercise; she makes time. And, reportedly, she sips on vinegar to keep her appetite at bay. Additionally, she told "Michigan Avenue Magazine" last fall, "I exercise and eat pretty well, and I'm not a big drinker. I want my kids to see their mom eating normally. If we go for ice cream, I might get the tiny size, but I'll eat it. I don't want my daughter to think she can't eat ice cream."

Katy Perry Jumps Into Fitness

Celebs & Entertainment

Katy PerryKaty Perry might be one of the hottest celebs out there, but that doesn't mean she's feeling any pressure to take up some intense Hollywood exercise regime. The "I Kissed a Girl" singer recently admitted that she despises all exercise with the exception of one sweat-worthy activity: Jumping rope. "I hate working out, but I love jumping rope," says the star. "There's a rhythm. It's like dancing. I can double jump; I can cross. I can do all of it. I look like Rocky when I jump rope."

It sounds like her workout is all fun and games, but don't be too quick to judge. Have you jumped rope recently? It is hard work. And considering it burns about 750 calories an hour (as if you could keep it up for an hour) I think she's onto something big. Pick up a jump rope and try it for yourself -- it's an inexpensive and very portable way to work up a sweat. All you need is a bit of space.

Eliza Dushku - Fit, Sexy, Tomboy

Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

we love to gawk banner
Eliza DushkuEliza Dushku, star of Dollhouse, was never a one to play with dolls. At least not in the traditional sense. She liked action figures and used to rip the heads off of her Barbie dolls. In fact, the young tomboy was sometimes mistaken for a boy. She recalls people telling her mother that she had four handsome boys; Dushku's mother would respond with, "That one's a girl!"

As a kid, Dushku liked climbing trees, camping, and playing touch football. Today, Dushku gets most of her exercise from running. She says "Going running makes me feel emotionally better and emotionally healthy." She also enjoys yoga, and credits the activity with helping her quit smoking. But she hasn't let her tomboy ways slip away; Dushku enjoys hunting which, of course, ruffled some feathers at PETA.

Though she may be a tomboy at heart, Dushku's fit physique is all-woman. Dushku once said "You have a better chance of seeing God than seeing me naked." And, well ... she might have gone back on her word, but Eliza Dushku sure looks fit and sexy!

Last September, Dushku competed in her first triathlon. Along with many other celebs, she competed in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon which benefited the Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Dushku said the race was "pure adrenaline" -- and it paid off; she finished third in the woman's celebrity division -- ahead of Jennifer Lopez.

Sarah Chalke - Klutzy, Quick, and Really Hot

Celebs & Entertainment

Sarah Chalke is on the cover of the March issue of Fitness magazine, wearing a bikini (which actually covers more than some of the get-ups the put her in on Scrubs), and she looks thin, but toned. Still, the actress swears she eats pie, ice cream, and "hot-chocolate soup, which is basically a thick bar of chocolate melted and topped with whipped cream." Oh, and she doesn't own a scale. So, wait -- how does that work?

sarah chalkeFor starters, she doesn't do those foods all the time -- she's a healthy eater, but doesn't deny herself dessert. And she stays active in a million different ways, including hiking with her chocolate lab, Lola, or hitting the treadmill while she learns her lines. Her current favorite way to work out is Xflowsion, "a combination of martial arts, yoga and power dance." She demonstrates a few of the moves in the magazine, and I can definitely see where it would burn a ton of calories.

My question is, how does she do it and not get hurt? This is a girl who's torn the ligaments in her left ankle seven times, once while in a college lecture hall (her leg fell asleep, and when she tried to stand to ask a question, she toppled right over), and another time when she stepped on a pinecone when she was out for a walk. But you know, we've all had those moments, right? If so, show your Scrubs love and leave a comment about your most embarrassing fitness injury!

Kim Kardashian Skipped Super Bowl to Work Out

Celebs & Entertainment

Kim Kardashian's main squeeze might be professional football player, Reggie Bush, but this year, she wasn't even watching the Super Bowl. Nope, instead of vegging out and stuffing her face with all kinds of delicious scrumptious diet-unfriendly football foods, Kim was working out.

Kim KardashianIt wasn't just a regular old workout, of course -- she was shooting a workout DVD. The shoot was planned long before anyone was aware that February 1 was the Super Bowl, and while Kim didn't want to miss the big game, she felt shooting the video was more important.

Kim explained why shooting this video meant so much to her, saying, "For young girls to see exercise videos that have only skinny girls ... well, that's something they can't attain. I want this to be something that can be realistic for most girls." The video will be geared toward curvier women, showing them how to tone up and stay in shape. And, while I applaud Kim for wanting to promote a good body image, I'm very curious to see how her workout differs from the "skinny girl" workouts. Aren't you?

Michelle Obama - Could You Hang With the Fit First Lady?

Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

Do you have a list of celebrities you'd like to work out with? I definitely do. I think it would be cool to do some watersports with Cameron Diaz, and I'd love to go for a run with Matthew McConnaughey. You know, because he's a good runner. No other reason there. Nope.
Michelle Obama
Anyway, I think I might have to add our new First Lady, Michelle Obama, to the list. I mean, she is dedicated, and I'm always so impressed with people who are able to fit in fitness when life gets crazy. And who's had a crazier couple of years than the Obamas?

AOL Health has an excellent rundown of Michelle's fitness routine, touching on how early she's been know to hit the gym (I'm sorry, 4:30 a.m. isn't morning -- that's still night to me!) and what her friends have to say about her (like, she's a gladiator). Get the whole scoop here, then, come back and vote in the poll below.

Jennifer Garner - Have Baby, Wait Two Weeks, Look Smashing

Diet & Weight Loss, Celebs & Entertainment

jennifer garnerHuge news: Actress Jennifer Garner has been spotted out and about sporting her anything-but-huge body, just a few weeks after giving birth to baby Seraphina Rose. OK, maybe not such big stuff. We think it's newsworthy, though, because who doesn't like to gawk at fit celebs who defy the odds and blast that baby fat like nobody's business. You go, Jennifer.

Usmagazine.com reports that Garner struggled to regain her figure after giving birth to her first daughter (Violet, age 3) and had to resort to the treadmill when she realized her baby fat would not just melt away. Yep, exercise usually does the trick. And judging by Jen's slimdown this time around, I'm guessing she's already hitting the gym.

Now, we're not saying the star is super skinny or anything. She just looks, you know, good, after having a baby and all. That's what we like -- a healthy looking baby momma who doesn't get all scrawny and stuff.

Wilkinson says, and 110-pound Marquardt adds, "It's a bad word." But they do believe in fitness. Kendra sweats it out at the gym, while Bridget loves Trapeze. "[I love it when] I've performed a trapeze routine and done a really great job. And even though I'm sweaty and nasty and gross from it, I just feel so accomplished and good."

Wanna know some other secrets of these Playboy pin-ups? Right here,
they dish on Hef, diets, fitness and everything in between.

KayCee Stroh - The High School Musical Star Was a Buff Bride

Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

KayCee StrohHigh School Musical star KayCee Stroh was married on January 9. And rumor has it she was a pretty buff bride.

KaCee made a wise wedding move and hired a trainer. The result: "My body mass has changed and, for the first time, my arms are strong," she says.

Looks like KaCee should be writing a thank you note to her trainer, who had her doing weight training and cardio workouts (she did the elliptical and stair climber three times a week) and is clearly the giver of the gift of fitness. Now that's a wedding gift you just can't beat. Let's just hope she doesn't decide to return it anytime soon.
