Quarterback Tom Brady - Well Done Is Better Than Well Said
Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Nutrition & Supplements
Well done is better than well said. First spoken by quarterback Tom Brady and then published by Tony Gentilcore on Pediatrics Now, I'm thinking this quote is just perfect for those of us whose minds are on diet and fitness. We can say all we want about eating healthy and exercising with passion and determination. But unless we practice what we preach, does it really matter? Nope. Now, I know we humans are not perfect and of course, we're going to indulge in a piece of cake and skip a workout now and then -- but keeping this quote in the back of your mind just might help you stay on track more than you fall off.
Next time you find yourself spouting the merits of fresh fruits and veggies to a colleague, make a point of infusing some new produce into your own diet. After encouraging your spouse to get his or her lazy butt off the couch, force yours out of the sitting position too and get on the treadmill. For each recommendation you make to someone, take action for yourself. I just told my husband today that I know why he weighs a few pounds more now than he did a few months ago -- he's been picking at sweets more than usual -- and then I realized I'm in the same boat, not with sweets, but that yummy dip with Fritos I ate last night certainly isn't doing anything for me today.
No more Fritos for me -- because well done is definitely better than well said. Thanks, Tom Brady, for reminding me.
Are you superstitious about your sport?

Simpson was called a bad luck charm for QB boyfriend Tony Romo's team last season, spurring on opposing-team fans like the ones pictured above to mock her game appearances. Now, Cowboys fans are starting to think she may be a distraction for the team this year. Could it be the long, flowing orange summer dress she wore at training camp in late July, the dress that had the whole team peeking and peering? Could it be that Romo can't focus when his girl is in the stands? Is this celebrity just too much to handle? Whatever the case, Simpson is stirring up superstition. Will it affect game play this year?

I just returned from ESPN the Weekend, at Disney World's Hollywood Studios. One of the highlights for me was when I stumbled across an interesting conversation between football all-stars Donovan McNabb, Chris Carter, Tony Gonzalez and a few others. The men were on an open stage being interviewed my Mike Greenberg of the Mike and Mike Show. What caught my attention was the taunting of Tony Gonzalez with strange veggie jokes. Why were they poking fun at this "lettuce man"? Little Miss Fitzness had to stop and listen.
The taunting was followed by Kansas City Chief tight-end Tony defending his vegan lifestyle. I was both surprised and impressed. Tony was bragging about his ability to jump rope and hit the weight room while his teammates were stuck in the mud the day after a game. He's beaten lethargy, increased his energy, and found many more fascinating benefits since he changed his eating habits. The nearly 250 pound tight end is not someone anyone would guess to be a vegan, but I think that's why he's so neat.

I just returned from a place I've decided to be Man Heaven. Man Heaven is a place where loads and loads of men dressed in various colored athletic jerseys giddily board trams with feverish excitement to spend time with their favorite sports heroes. These men were squirming in their seats, beaming bright smiles and high-fiving their way all the way to the entrance gates of Disney World's Hollywood Studios. ESPN the Weekend is Man Heaven.
The weekend was filled with endless opportunities to meet, train with, question and listen to America's favorite ESPN stars: Donovan McNabb, Tony Gonzalez, Hershel Walker, John Stockton, Cal Ripken Jr., Chris Carter and more. Oodles of ESPN Sportscasters took stages across the park hosting their own scheduled and aired ESPN shows, and also hosted other fun question and answer sessions with the stars of Man Heaven.
