The Active Health Network has just launched and you can find it at SportsHealthExercise.Org. I'm very excited to announce this to you, because I'm one of the several health and fitness experts contributing to the site. Unlike other health and fitness sites, SHE is owned by a fitness expert, Master of Exercise Physiology, Tracy Benham. She has also surrounded herself by other experts (like me) in unique genres of health.
SHE sports a bunch of great text info, and it's full of FITNESS TELEVISION! You don't have to settle for words, when you can see and hear the various experts blabbing about and showing you personally what they want you to know about becoming a better you. General fitness training, yoga, healthy cooking, etc...
So ... I'm stoked! We've done tons of work leading up to this point, and now I can't wait to see how all of that effort pays off for you. So ... what are you waiting for? Stop reading what I say and go listen and see instead.

Sports and summertime go together. Plan an activity early in the day. Play baseball, touch football; go to the local pool or beach.
- Get outside early and see if you can think of and do more than four activities before four o'clock to celebrate the Fourth.
- Eat a bowl of fruit before you head for the barbecue goodies. Tons of fruits are in season. Make a Fourth of July fruit cocktail. Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries...
- Use a plate. You will be less tempted to mindlessly snack.
- Skip the cheese and the Mayo on your burger and load up on lettuce tomatoes, pickles, onions and relish.
- Alternate cocktails and other caloric beverages with a glass of water. Or ... just avoid the high calorie beverages all together!
I just completed shooting some new fitness videos

Hooray! I just completed a perfectly fun and grueling weekend shooting a ton of fitness videos for you. The videos were filmed for Tracy Benham's Sports Health and Exercise (SHE) company which is known for quick, smart, energetic and fun health and fitness tips from some of the foremost experts in the world.
We created a bunch of strength training and cardiovascular workouts which you'll be able to train with at home, as soon as they are released this summer. One of my favorite parts of the videos was being able to include my fellow blogger and friend, Kristen Seymour. Kristen has trained with me off and on for a few years, and truly has amazing levels of strength and endurance. She also has a perfect smile and looks brilliant on camera.
We were also blessed with the opportunity to film in one of the most beautiful gyms in the world. The Gainesville Health and Fitness Center generously opened their doors to myself, SHE and our team. The facilities are stunning, and all of the equipment is top of the line. Who could ask for more?
Women, aging, and running: A beautiful combination
Healthy Aging, Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness
Women runners out there, this article is for you! Men may have the edge with aging when it comes to sex appeal (why can't wrinkles make women look sexier?) but women seem to have the edge in athletics, specifically running. In this article in the New York Times one woman shares her observations about how men in races seem to consistently run longer times as they age, versus women who are "all over the place" and are often faster in their 30s and 40s than they were in their 20s.Experts surmise it's not so much about physiology but more mental instead. Women don't often learn to assert themselves and really set challenges until they get older and more confident -- suddenly they realize what they're really capable of.
Watch out guys, here we come.
