Reebok Easytone: Shoes With a Workout?
You can see what we mean by taking a look at the commercial below.
Reebok claims that Easytone shoes will work your hamstrings and calves up to 11 percent harder and tone your butt 28 percent more than regular sneakers just by walking.
How is that possible? These sneakers have "balance ball-inspired technology" that engages muscles in your legs and glutes. Women who have tried the shoes claim that they take a little getting used to, but that they can feel their muscles engaging more.
But are women who purchase these Reeboks setting themselves up for disappointment? One can't help but compare these sneakers to FitFlops or NGR (No Gym Required) shoes that claimed to give you a workout just by walking. Where is the real science behind the Easytone shoes?
Reebok's New EasyTone Shoe Lets You Take the Gym With You

We all love finding ways to get more out of our workouts, but one thing we might love more is finding ways to turn our everyday activities into calorie roasters. That's why so many of us get really excited about shoes that give our legs and booties more of a workout. There's the FitFlop, the MBT Anti-Shoe, and now, Reebok has come out with the EasyTone, a shoe that they say "lets you take the gym with you."
The website claims 28 percent more action in the gluteus maximus muscle, 11 percent more activation of the hamstring, and 11 percent more calf activation, and all you have to do is walk. Built-in "balance pods" create instability with every step you take, so your muscles have to work harder -- kind of like walking through the sand on a beach. The shoe runs $109.99 and comes in a variety of colors -- white, black, lilac, blue and red -- and, well, they're okay-looking. I wouldn't choose them as a fashion sneaker (is that an oxymoron?), but they don't look as orthopedic as some of the other sneakers that claim to have the same benefits.
Trapeze - Fly Into Fitness
Want strong core muscles, fit arms and toned legs? Why not fly into fitness like Molly Sims and Mischa Barton? Sims and Barton aren't the only celebs who learned flying skills at a "JUKARI Fit to Fly" class. Audrina Patridge, Regina King, Giuliana Rancic, Brooke Burke and Jaime King have also given this fun, new class a try. This unique, trapeze-based workout was developed by Reebok and Cirque du Soleil. And, don't worry, you won't be flying high in the air -- all the skills are done near the ground. That doesn't mean "JUKARI Fit to Fly" is an easy workout, though. During the hour-long class, you'll use a specially-designed bar called a FlySet.
You'll swivel, swoop and soar as your instructor takes you through a series of challenging moves. It's an all-over workout incorporating cardio, strength and flexibility. You'll work your abs, legs, lats, arms, glutes and you'll probably even work some muscles you didn't know you had. All of that, plus you'll feel like you're flying.
In the U.S., you can find "JUKARI Fit to Fly" classes in L.A. and New York. But classes will gradually be rolling out to Equinox fitness centers across the country.

I'm stuck! I've been teaching fitness for almost twenty years., and I often feel like I know all there is to know about body mechanics, weight loss, and fitness equipment. Today though, I'm totally stumped. My socks suck, and I can't seem to find a pair that don't!
I have been running a lot lately, and the only thing that bothers me after mile three is my socks! Ack! They're driving me nuts, and on the verge of giving me blisters. SO! I come to you, my brilliant That's Fit readers for help. Tell me about the socks you love and which ones I shouldn't waste my money on. This fitness pro needs your advice. My feet would like to thank you in advance.
Reebok introduces Freestyle World Tour Collection
When I think of Reebok, my mind immediately goes to the most fashion forward cities in the world, like Paris and Madrid. Doesn't yours? It should!Reebok is debuting its Freestyle World Tour Collection with a campaign that began on February 21. The footwear and apparel line is inspired by the "iconic Freestyle shoe that forever changed the face of women's fitness." Back in the 1980's, when Freestyles first hit the streets, they were just as much about fashion as they were about fitness.
This time around, Reebok will incorporate a completely original campaign, basing its line on six up and coming young women from six cities around the world -- Tokyo, Paris, New Delhi, Madrid, London, and NYC. Six different versions of the Freestyle have been created based upon each of these cities. For example, Tokyo's has flashy foil, while London's shoe is a reserved mix of muted colors.

Valentine sneakers from Reebok
And if you're not currently in a relationship, it's ok to show yourself some love with a little Valentine's fitness fun. A new pair of shoes, some workout wear, or even a heart monitor might bring a little motivation to your workout routine!
Scented Kool-Aid tennis shoes
I laughed so hard when I read Lauren's first impression of these Kool-Aid scented sneakers over at Styledash. She's horrified at the thought, though commenters on the post seem to think they're going to be a hit. Honestly, I have to agree with her readers (I'm properly horrified for you, though, Lauren!). Though I wouldn't put my own feet in a pair, the recycling of 70s and 80s pop culture is a popular way to get kids and young people (and their parents, who feel that sentimental tug) to snatch up novelty items like these.
That said, can you imagine what these are going to smell like after a few hard workouts? Grape Kool-Aid and sweaty feet...ug.

Surfing a wave - an exercise. Surfing the web - an exercise in futility. Most of the time, anyway. I'll be the first to
admit that I spend far too much time jumping from page-to-page, never really having a destination in mind. Fortunately, there are some cool websites that can help you turn your exercise in futility into exercise utility (I'm not sure that even makes sense, but I'm keeping it).
If you're looking for some inspiration, or just want a few new fitness ideas, the internet may not be such a bad place after all. Here are a few suggestions I found in Fitness Magazine:
Google Earth. Aside from finding your own house on this amazing Google feature, you can also use it to locate and plot hiking trails. To use it, click the Layers list -- which will then bring up Featured Content. Select the Trimble Outdoors Trips Finder. Lastly, type in the city in which you wish to go hiking. You can even download the trail info. into your cell phone or GPS.
GoRunEasy.com. If you're an avid runner, you either already know about this site or will be sure to visit it often from here on in. Site visitors can plot their running paths, post photos of sites to seen on those paths, share iPod playlists, and even connect with local running clubs.
YouTube.com. Yes, yes, yes ... you can find some of the most asinine videos imaginable on YouTube, but you can also find some pretty useful workout videos. If you're ever wondering how to perform a certain exercise, chances are there is a video on this site that will show you. In addition, there are entire exercise videos that you can watch, such as 8 Minute Abs, entire pilates routines, and cardio-boxing lessons.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to wasting time online.
Would you wear a peppermint scented sports bra?
I'm not a huge fan of mint anything, really, so the fact that I'm not at all excited about a sports bra scented like peppermint is no surprise. But what do you think? FitSugar has a poll going on the topic, based on the new Reebock Pulse Scented Short Bra Top which "releases the refreshing scent of peppermint" when you workout. It seems like more people like it than don't (48% cool, 38% not cool, so far), but I'm not convinced. I keep thinking that it doesn't keep you from sweating so what does 'sweaty peppermint' smell like? That could be downright nauseating.
