This Week on AOL Health - Summer Foods Quiz

If you're cruising the boardwalk or your local farmers market, it's easy to trick yourself into vacation-mode and forget how much that airy cotton candy is really going to cost you (just one cup is 440 calories). But there are some not-so-obvious choices that will not only do less damage to your diet but also keep you in the summertime spirit. For example, did you know it's better to eat a 6-inch funnel cake than a basket of fries? They're both deep-fried diet disasters, but an entire funnel cake has almost one-half less calories than five ounces of fries.
Take this quiz to find out which summer faves are better for your bod than others.

What's your sugar IQ?
I want to know how much you know about sugar. So does Women's Health magazine. That's why the team over there is featuring this online quiz to see if you can spot the products with the most sugar content. Here's one choice: Frosted Cheerios or Frosted Flakes -- which has less sugar? I picked Frosted Cheerios. I was wrong. Tony the Tiger comes out the winner in this one, with 11 grams of sugar in 3/4 cup. Frosted Cheerios has 12 grams. Not a big margin of difference on this one but still, if you're going for a sugary cereal, you might want to opt for the Flakes.
Continue on with this quiz and you'll get to pick between Yoo-hoo and Light Cranberry Juice, Original Wheat Thins and Cool Ranch Doritos, Pop Tarts or a Clif Bar, and more. Are you guessing already? Let me just say this: Things are not always as they seem. And you'll surely learn a lot from this sweet quiz.
Let us know how you do, won't you?
A quiz for a better brain and longer life
Practicing activities that make you think (like crossword puzzles) could do a lot more than just improve your memory -- they just might lengthen your life a little too. Any activity or game that requires you to concentrate will do the trick so you can pretty much take your pick, but if you're looking for something fun to practice on right now try taking this brain quiz and see how you do. An example from the quiz:
- Say "silk" six times. What do cows drink?
...
How did you do? Cows drink water, by the way, not milk (yeah, I totally fell for that one...). Happy concentrating!
What do 100 calories look like?
Are there 100 calories in 18 Fat Free Rold Gold Tiny Twist Pretzels or in 25? If you picked 18, you are correct. How about two dark chocolate kisses or five dark chocolate kisses -- which serving has 100 calories? Good news: You can have five kisses for 100 calories.Women's Health magazine puts readers to the 100-calorie test with this online questionnaire. Even better than my two previous questions, this survey features photos of various foods in their competing serving sizes and asks you to pick the 100-calorie portion.
Shrimp and cocktail sauce, peanuts and dried cranberries, baby carrots and hummus, bagel and doughnut portions, even McDonald's French fries are a few of the foods that make an appearance in this quiz. It's sure to help you fine-tune your snack smarts. So get started. And best wishes for a stellar test score.

Take this quiz to find out how you deal with stress
There is definitely a difference between good stress and bad stress, and the way that you handle the bad stress will often determine if you're happy, healthy and generally well-balanced or worried, depressed and edgy. Obviously we all handle the various stresses related to work and family life differently, but have you ever wondered just how well you deal with stress?
This quick quiz aims to give everyone an idea of their stress style, or how well they handle stressful situations. I scored an 18, which puts me at the bottom of the 'Control Freak' category. Apparently, my fellow control freaks and I find that the best way to deal with stress is to do whatever we can to control the situation. Those with the lowest scores are labeled "Cool Cats", and are possible the best at dealing with stress as they take things in stride and make plans to deal with demands.
Finally, there's the "Nervous Nelly" who manages stressful situations by finding distractions. When something comes up, nervous nelly's will often deal by going for a run, eating, upping their caffeine consumption and getting tense. If you'd like more information on each of the stress styles, as well as ideas on how to better deal with stress based on your type, take the quiz here.
For a bit of fun take this 'sexy' quiz
Natural Products, Alternative & Green Health
There are all sorts of definitions of what's sexy (and when I say sexy, I mean sexy -- not sleazy). Whether you're down-to-earth, funny and easy to talk to, nice but with a naughty side or super confident and flirty, your personality will likely appeal to a range or guys.
Ever wonder if you're the 'Girl Next Door', the 'Seductress' or the "Vixen on the Prowl"? I found this fun quiz from Elle that lets you know where you fit on the sexy scale. Answers to questions about an idea first date, your favored bra and undie combo, your typical bedtime wear, the TV character who is most like you and favorite celeb style, help determine which of the aforementioned categories you fit into.
I ended up with the 'Girl Next Door' label, which I think is pretty accurate considering it's a fun and simple quiz. Why not give it a try and let us know what kind of sexy you are?
How food-savvy are you?
I consider myself to be fairly up my food news but I only got 4/11 on one of the sections. What about you?
Test your fertility IQ
Womens Health, Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Motivation
I'm going to warn all of you ladies in your late-20s and early-30s who hope to someday have children, that taking this fertility quiz may make cause you to feel the following: depressed, hopeless, discouraged, desperate and fruitless (in more ways that one).
Like a lot of you out there, I'd like to have kids some day but a) would ideally like to do it within a loving and committed relationship, and b) want to wait a bit until I've seen the world, established myself at a job I enjoy and feel ready to not be completely selfish and only think about myself. Unfortunately, I'm nowhere close to accomplishing most of these things and I'm already 28 which, according the quiz, means my fertility rate is starting to decline -- quickly.
Apparently only 1 out of 12,000 respondents got all 15 questions about fertility correct (I think my score was a lofty 12), which isn't very encouraging. You can take the test here and see how well you do, and also learn some interesting and potentially very important facts about fertility and conception. And if any of you out there waited until your mid-to late-30s to have kids and have some encouraging stories to tell the rest of us, please share. It may help ease a few minds that, after reading the information provided, are envisioning a life of dried-up, barren solitude.
Does your skin look its age? Take this quiz to find out
Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Alternative & Green Health
Maybe it's vain (alright it is vain) but the thought of getting super wrinkly as I age scares me. A lot. While I can't always afford to buy really expensive department store make-up and skin creams (there's nothing wrong with the cheaper varieties found at a drug store, right?) my one extravagance is luxurious (and pricey) eye cream. I know I'm probably falling for an elaborate marketing scheme, but I don't care -- my eye creams make me believe that I'm temporarily holding crow's feet at bay.
To be honest, I think my skin is still looking OK for my age. I've worn moisturizer with SPF for years and have never smoked. I don't have fair, freckled skin, have never had a blistering sunburn and I'm neither obese nor underweight. I have however, used a tanning bed on occasion, I enjoy a drink (or a few) from time to time and I frequently get less than 6 hours of sleep a night.
According to this quiz, all of the above affect how well your skin ages. I took the test and came out with a score of 5, which I must say I'm pretty proud of. I do know though, that if I'm not careful a few of my bad habits could cause my skin to age prematurely. If you're interested in the real age of your skin, try out the quiz and see how you measure up and how you can improve the look your body's largest organ.
Worried about your alcohol intake? Take this quiz to see if you should be
Womens Health, Diet & Weight Loss, Men's Health
There are lots of debates out there on the pros and cons of alcohol consumption. Drinking definitely doesn't help with weight loss as it's full of calories, but there is also evidence that a glass or two of beer or wine can be beneficial to your health. I'm of the opinion that, while too much boozing can increase your risk or getting a number of diseases, it's likely fine, if not beneficial, in moderation.
I will also admit that I am guilty of not always sticking to a moderate amount when I socialize with friends. Sometimes it's tough to know how much is really too much. If you're concerned that maybe you go overboard too often, take this quick quiz to find out. While I think that the quiz is pretty over-simplified with its point system and lack of detailed questions, I do think that if you've answered one or more of the questions with the three-or four-point responses, it may be time to reevaluate how much you drink and how often.
Quiz: Are you as fit as you think?
Body weight, BMI, body measurements, calories eaten, calories burned, ideal body weight, muscle mass, percent body fat...it seems like there is nothing but numbers flying around out there when it comes to measuring people's health! Do you know what they all mean? How do you measure your own personal fitness? Do know if it's really the most accurate for you? Take this quiz and see how much you really know (I like it because it gives an explanation after each answer), and read this article for some great information (or do it the other way around and read the article first -- then you'll do a lot better on the quiz!).
