Why the pounds are sticking around: Quick Tip #1
Even with the best of intentions, as well as an admirable amount of effort, the weight sometimes doesn't come off!! Try as you might to get the needle on that scale to budge even the slightest bit, sometimes it's just not having it. This is especially true for people who have already lost quite a bit of weight and are now trying to take off those last ten pounds or so.
To help you shed those stubborn extra pounds, here is a quick tip from an article titled "Scale Stuck?", which appears in this month's edition of Self magazine. I'll post one of them a day for the next 10 days, starting today with Quick Tip #1.
Hopefully these tips will help you figure out what's causing those pounds to stick around.
Quick Tip #1
Diet Flub: You Grocery Shop on the Fly - You do your grocery shopping on an empty stomach. Doing so makes you more inclined to succumb to your body's hunger-induced yearning for high-sugar and high-fat foods.
Fix It: Shop online instead. I realize that the majority of people in the U.S. still don't have access to the internet, but my thinking is that if you're reading this now, you're not one of those people. So, skip the checkout line entirely, and instead visit any number of web-based grocery shopping sites (such as Peapod.com, Netgrocer.com, and Freshdirect.com). According to the article in Self, a University of Connecticut study actually found that people who shop for groceries online buy fewer high-fat foods.
