Queen Latifah - She's Getting Her Butt Back in Gear
Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment, Nutrition & Supplements
Queen Latifah has decided to stay on as spokesperson for Jenny Craig, and it's a good thing, because the star is looking to get her post-holiday butt back in gear. What better way than to embrace the weight-loss program that helped her shed a few in the first place."I'm glad I re-signed [with Jenny Craig] because I had a little fun over the holidays, as most people do," says the host of Wednesday night's People Choice Awards.
Apparently, the 38-year-old indulged in everything while in Trinidad recently. "It wasn't that I wasn't eating healthy stuff," she explains. "It was just a lot of it. There's always a beach barbeque." Time for some regular workouts and swimming, she says adding, "I will knock this weight back down. I know it."

Queen Latifah - Sticking With Jenny Craig for Another Year
Diet & Weight Loss, Celebs & Entertainment, Nutrition & Supplements
She's not interested in getting skinny, but Queen Latifah does strive for an overall healthy lifestyle, which is exactly why she's signing on for another year with Jenny Craig. The Jenny Craig folks are thrilled: "Queen Latifah embodies the healthy lifestyle principles and character that Jenny Craig stands for and we look forward to another great year," says Scott Parker, vice president of marketing. The Grammy-winning singer and Oscar-nominated actress, 38, lost 20 pounds in 2008 after watching celebs Kirstie Alley and Valerie Bertinelli trim down Jenny-Craig style. This year, she and actress Phylicia Rashad will rule the roost, inspiring people everywhere to get a grip on their waistlines.
Phylicia Rashad Takes Her Turn as Jenny Craig Spokesperson
Diet & Weight Loss, Celebs & Entertainment
Jenny Craig has a thing for celebrities. They're the weight-loss world's version of lady's man. - First it was Kirstie Alley, who lost quite a bit of weight but then seemed to plateau and (gasp!) maybe put some pounds back on. Goodbye, Kirstie.
- Then came Valerie Bertinelli who took off even more weight than her original goal and looks just awesome. She's still involved with Jenny Craig -- but in-progress weight loss stories are more interesting than maintenance tales, aren't they?
- Queen Latifah also took a turn with Jenny Craig commercials and gave it her usual cool and dignified spin. She offered a pleasant change from quirky and perky.
- Baron Davis of the LA Clippers speaks for the men -- he used Jenny Craig to help him get in shape for basketball season.
- Now Phylicia Rashad is joining the Jenny Craig bandwagon. I'm sure she'll be a great spokesperson for them -- after all, who's more lovable than Clair Huxtable?
Jenny Craig seems to change celebrities like the rest of us change underwear. But, if they're helping the celebs lose weight and inspiring others to do so in the process ... more power to them.
