Jessica Simpson's Weight Mocked on 'Fox NFL Sunday'

Celebs & Entertainment

You know what? Enough is enough. Jessica Simpson isn't super skinny, but she's certainly not overweight.

Apparently, Burger King and Fox feel differently. They ran a positively caustic cartoon on "Fox NFL Sunday" making fun of Simpson's weight. And while they've since apologized, what does it mean when a girl who is no bigger than a size 6 is subject of fat jokes?

Yes, Simpson is a star, and yes, she's chosen to live her life in the public eye. But she's recently experienced a painful breakup and the loss of a beloved pet. The fact that she's famous is irrelevant -- if you were her pal, or even a passing acquaintance, you'd be horrified by a commercial like this, and I see no reason to feel otherwise simply because she's not one of my close friends.

Jessica Simpson - Heavier but happy

Who can forget Jessica Simpson in those tiny shorts as Daisy Duke? The petite starlet had an incredible body, but it took an incredible amount of work to achieve it. And, now that Jess is happy in her personal life, she's not quite as concerned about staying in perfect shape.

Apparently, Jessica's main man, football pro Tony Romo, is encouraging her not to take life too seriously. She no longer is depriving herself from eating some treats once in a while just to fit into her size two jeans. She's comfortable with how she looks, and Tony likes her curves, so she's letting herself drink a couple of beers and eat some pizza while watching his games.

Instead of focusing on working out every day and following a strict diet, the singer is focusing on her country career and being happy. She still looks beautiful, and healthy, but I hope she remembers that those workouts aren't just for fitting in jeans -- overall health is important, too!

Jessica Simpson's new pursuit: Beer

Jessica Simpson says she works out and takes good care of herself. But that doesn't mean the girl doesn't like a cold beer once in a while. Makes sense, then, that the singer, actress, and designer has signed on as spokeswoman for a new beer that apparently contains not only alcohol, but vitamins.

Stampede Light Plus, made by the Dallas's Stampede Brewing Co., is the product Simpson will endorse. Why exactly this beer? Because she is always interested in diversifying her portfolio, she says. And she likes good ideas and good people. Oh, and a little money too -- Simpson will take a 15-percent stake in the brewer.

Want to know more about this vitamin thing? Check out the Stampede Plus website here.

Are you superstitious about your sport?

Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

Are you superstitious about your sport? Do you wear a favorite pair of running shorts in road races because you think they give you an edge? Do you practice a ritual warm-up routine that if altered might mess with your whole workout? Is there something you don't do to keep your game strong -- like ban a certain fan from your cheering section? That's what Dallas Cowboys football fans want to do with a certain someone who keeps showing up: Jessica Simpson.

Simpson was called a bad luck charm for QB boyfriend Tony Romo's team last season, spurring on opposing-team fans like the ones pictured above to mock her game appearances. Now, Cowboys fans are starting to think she may be a distraction for the team this year. Could it be the long, flowing orange summer dress she wore at training camp in late July, the dress that had the whole team peeking and peering? Could it be that Romo can't focus when his girl is in the stands? Is this celebrity just too much to handle? Whatever the case, Simpson is stirring up superstition. Will it affect game play this year?

How stars battle cellulite

Fitness

Cellulite is something that affects almost every woman out there -- even seemingly perfect celebrities. Jessica Simpson, Kate Hudson and Mischa Barton are among those who are plagued with cottage cheese flab, according to Life & Style Magazine. But cellulite doesn't always have the final word; Here are some tips for avoiding it or getting rid of it:
  • Do like Jessica Simpson and choose only sugar-free drinks
  • Do like Kate Hudson and get some exercise in -- though exercise alone won't make all the difference
  • Do as Mischa Barton does and eat a diet low in fat and high in estrogen.
Good advice? What do you think?

We love to gawk at fit celebs weekly round-up: It isn't easy

We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs Weekly Roundup

We all know fitness doesn't come effortlessly to anyone. There's hard work and consistency involved in being in shape. Hence the sweatiness. And celebrities are no exception...well, except for the ones who get their bods through a little plastic surgery, but hardly any of them do that, right? Right? This week's celebrity gawking focuses on the fact that, well, it isn't easy.

Jessica Simpson may be getting praise for her toned body again, but she confesses she's lousy at one key component of her regime: jumping rope. Jess claims her lack of rhythm is to blame, and of course her trainer makes her do lots of sets, because trainers are evil like that. She also says if she craves a food, she allows herself a taste, as in, a couple of bites. Livin' large, girl. Now that sounds like it isn't easy.

Lance Armstrong is pretty much the picture of athletic awesomeness, but now that he's training for a marathon, he says running isn't easy. Lance claims riding a bike is more efficient and easier on the body. That's only because he's never seen me ride a bike.

Samantha Harris, host of Dancing With the Stars, resumed working out just two-and-a-half weeks after giving birth. She says her doctor gave her the green light, so she dived in with a yoga class, a cardio sculpting class, a plain old sculpting class... She says, "I'm not trying to drop the weight fast in any capacity." Mmm hmm, whatever you say. I'm thinking the immediate return to exercise isn't, you know...

Lily Allen credits hypnosis for her recent weight loss. The singer dropped many pounds and claims the hypnotism helps her stop eating when she's full and makes her want to get to the gym daily. Allen has blogged about her weight and body issues for a while, and while she's tried to let go of it, she confessed in May that she had "fallen victim to the evil machine." That kind of public weight scrutiny can't be easy.

Forbes interviews the trainers to stars like Jessica Biel and Kimora Lee Simmons for the lowdown on how celebs get their bodies looking good. I'll give you a hint: It sure helps to have the time and money to work out zealously with a trainer. There are also photos of swanky gyms the famous people hit. Exercising with a pro in posh digs still isn't easy, but it's easier than the rest of us have it.

How Jessica Simpson is slimming down

Celebs & Entertainment

I saw a magazine headline the other day screaming that I could find out Jessica Simpson's hot-bod secrets. I didn't pick it up because let's be honest -- Jessica hasn't been looking her best lately but she's changing her body with help from the 5-Factor Diet, a straightforward plan that involves 5 meals a day and 5 days of exercize a week. A number of celebrities are on the diet, which includes lean protein, whole-grains, fruits, veggies and even a cheat day.

And you know what? I think it's working -- she's looking pretty fit these days!
