Which Exercise Helps Pregnant Stars Stay Fit?

Full disclosure here, I own a Pilates studio, and I've been working with pregnant clients since 1999. I, myself, did Pilates throughout my pregnancy. I'm biased, but I believe Pilates is hands down the best workout anyone can do while you're pregnant and here's why.
- Easy on the joints, but still a great workout. You might feel like your back is out of whack or your knees are wobbly, but Pilates will help you stay centered and balanced.
- Your abs stay strong. Did you know your abdominals can stretch up to 300 percent during your pregnancy? With Pilates, your abs will stay strong for as long as possible (eventually they will stretch and weaken, it's part of the process).

Jessica Alba - Hot, Sexy and Airbrushed
Note to magazine editors, professional photographers, and anyone else who dabbles in Photoshop ... cut it out. Jessica Alba just had her little girl, Honor, last June and she's back to pre-baby shape already. She looks gorgeous (says Maggie with a jealous sneer). But, apparently, someone from the Campari campaign didn't think she was quite gorgeous enough.Photos have surfaced showing a shot from the photo shoot before retouching and a photo after retouching. Granted, in my opinion, they're two different photos (her head tilt is different and would they really retouch the whole background?), even so, it's obvious there's been some retouching going on.
I just think it's a shame to take an incredibly fit and gorgeous woman like Jessica Alba and find room for improvement. It's no wonder that I -- far from Jessica Alba-ish -- look at my mirror in the morning and wonder when my rear end is going to be declared the 51st state.
What Celeb Body Part Makes Your Wish List?
Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
This year, rather than asking for jewelry or a new set of golf clubs, lots of men and women are putting something else on their Christmas lists -- celebrity-inspired plastic surgery. They want Angelina Jolie's lips, Brad Pitt's nose, and, not surprisingly, Scarlett Johansson's breasts. Also showing up on wish lists this year are Megan Fox, Carrie Underwood, Halle Berry, and Zac Efron. This got me thinking -- while I don't have any desire to switch cheekbones with Vanessa Hudgens (well, I'm not willing to go under the knife for them -- when it can happen through magic, we'll talk), I definitely wouldn't mind having Jessica Biel's abs, or Jennifer Garner's arms. And, who wouldn't love to have Heidi Klum's legs?
The great thing about wanting a celebrity body part like arms, abs, and legs, is that you have the power to get closer to that shape without medical intervention. You can bust out extra push-ups, go running and do squats, and be picky about what you eat to get those sexy, lean muscles. The only question remaining is this: Which fit celebrity's body do you want most? Check out the gallery for inspiration, then leave your answer in our poll. Don't see your pick? Leave a comment!
Motivation - Whose Body Would You Tape to Your Gym Bag?
Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
It doesn't need to be your gym bag. It can be your fridge, the door of your snack-filled pantry, your treadmill -- you name the place. But answer me this: Whose hot body would you plaster (in photo form, not the real thing) on your location of choice to keep you motivated? Kristen says in a recent post that she might tape a photo of hot momma Jessica Alba on her gym bag. She got me thinking that this isn't such a bad idea. So I want to know who motivates you.Me? That tummy that belongs to Fitz is pretty inspirational. I'm a fan of Madonna's built bod too. I like Kelly Ripa's thin but toned physique. And The Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels -- I love her look. Maybe I need a whole gallery of shots to keep me pumped.
What about you? Give me your pick -- celebrity or otherwise -- and I'll report back on what I learn.

Jessica Alba - What Baby Weight?
We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs, Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

Jessica Alba has looked fantastic at every public outing since giving birth to her first child in June, but none of that prepared the world for a calendar Alba posed in wearing swimwear, evening gowns and a whole lot of sex appeal. The calendar is for Campari, an alcoholic apertif. Maybe next time we'll see her posing in a campaign for fruits and veggies, which seems a little more up her ally!
While it's entirely likely that a decent amount of retouching went into the calendar (good grief, I hope so), there's no disputing she's looking hotter than ever, with an hourglass figure to die for. She's relied on a strict diet and exercise, as well as a personal trainer, but admits that she generally sticks to baggier duds these days."I'm usually walking around in comfy clothes, with a baby on my arm," the fit-but-curvy Alba says, adding that she enjoyed getting all dressed up. I think everyone else will enjoy it, too -- either for gawking purposes or, in my case, for motivation. I think I need some of the images taped to my gym bag!

Strict diet, exercise does trick for Alba
Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
It took me five years -- five years! -- after having my second baby to get my body pretty much where I want it. It took Jessica Alba three months. The combination of full-time mommy duties, always-changing schedules, a crappy diet, and cancer just kept me forever short of my goals. Ah, to have succeeded in three months. If you want to knock off some baby weight, you might want to follow Alba's lead -- if life allows for such a schedule, that is. Here's how the 27-year-old mom of baby Honor Marie did it.
- Alba consistently worked out -- one hour per day, five or six days per week.
- Alba stuck with a strict daily diet of 1,700 calories -- exercise and diet together allowed her to lose 600 calories each day. The diet was both low-fat and low-carb -- part of trainer Ramona Braganza's 321 Baby Bulge Be Gone plan.
- While vacationing, Alba stays active -- swimming and volleyball are favorite activities.

We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs - Jessica Alba collected points to drop pounds

Jacki told us a couple of weeks ago that Jessica Alba dropped the baby weight by using an elliptical machine and treadmill at her home. Now, it looks like she's added another machine to her home gym -- a high-tech Expresso exercise bike. What makes this bike unique is that the bike's program" allows her to collect points -- it's a lot like a video game," explained Ramona Braganza, Alba's trainer. This allows the svelte new mama to focus on achieving a high score, rather than worrying about calories burned or minutes passed.
I don't know about you, but any time I use a machine with time, calories, and distance on the display, I like to play a game with myself -- get to a certain distance by a certain time, or burn a certain number of calories over the course of a mile by upping the intensity, so I can see where using points would add interest and help the workout to go faster. Sounds fun!

Alba sheds baby weight, trainer tells all
Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment, Nutrition & Supplements
It took just two months for Alba to shed 25 pounds after giving birth to daughter Honor Marie. Two months to go from a size eight to a size four, thanks to a low-fat, low-carb diet. Trainer Ramona Braganza calls it her 321 Baby Bulge Be Gone plan and in addition to a healthy diet, Alba is sweating a lot. The 27-year-old is using an elliptical machine and treadmill at home and keeps a regular routine of core exercises and circuit training.
Six days a week Alba is working out. Maybe that's how she's made such great progress in a very short time. And why I didn't -- there's no way I could have devoted six days to hard-core fitness, with fussy newborns, sleepless nights, and my full-time mommy job. I'm good now, though -- seven years after I had my first baby. Patience, my friends. Patience.
Jessica Alba "hasn't worked out in months"
Jessica Alba is an attractive woman. So attractive, in fact, that a group of Cambridge mathematicians recently got together and decided that she has the world's sexiest wiggle -- plus, Alba recently received the female hottie award at the Teen Choice Awards.
I occasionally wonder how it is that celebrities like Alba manage to be so uniformly gorgeous -- I mean, on top of their jobs, some of them have children, and when they're not acting in movies or recording albums (or whatever they do) they're promoting some product, attending events and blah blah blah. Do they really have time to work out as often as I'd have to in order to keep that kind of figure?
Apparently not. Alba recently told People that -- not only is she not on a diet -- but that she hasn't worked out "in two months." She does nothing -- other than yoga -- to maintain her alluring physique.
Somehow, I'm not sure that would work for the rest of us.
