Michelle Obama - Could You Hang With the Fit First Lady?
Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

Do you have a list of celebrities you'd like to work out with? I definitely do. I think it would be cool to do some watersports with Cameron Diaz, and I'd love to go for a run with Matthew McConnaughey. You know, because he's a good runner. No other reason there. Nope.

Anyway, I think I might have to add our new First Lady, Michelle Obama, to the list. I mean, she is dedicated, and I'm always so impressed with people who are able to fit in fitness when life gets crazy. And who's had a crazier couple of years than the Obamas?
AOL Health has an excellent rundown of Michelle's fitness routine, touching on how early she's been know to hit the gym (I'm sorry, 4:30 a.m. isn't morning -- that's still night to me!) and what her friends have to say about her (like, she's a gladiator). Get the whole scoop here, then, come back and vote in the poll below.
What Defines Sexy?
Celebs & Entertainment, Reviews & Products, Motivation
Our society is funny. Thin celebrities are bashed for being thin, yet stars who gain more than five "extra" pounds are criticized for being overweight. What the hell?
I look around my neighborhood and see lots of happy people of all different shapes and sizes, and I imagine (not in a creepy lewd and lascivious way) that many of those people are having sex! You know ... they "get busy" and "do the deed." So my thought process in the long run is that sexy is really not so much about looking like a Calvin Klein model, but more about the way we act and feel.
So what makes you feel sexy? Lots of girls seem to strut their stuff in lingerie, stilettos or shiny shirts. Guys work the boot cut jeans or Under Armour T's, I suppose. Me? I feel best in my black cowboy boots. Am I a western girl at all? Not really. But those boots make me feel just a tad more powerful and as you'll read next ... I love power.
Cheryl Tiegs Knows Beauty - What Motivated Her to Lose 50 Pounds?
Celebrity Fitzness Report, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
Curious to know how celebrities squeeze fitness into their daily lives? Want to know the secrets of the stars? Bi-weekly our That's Fit fitness expert Fitz sits down with the celebs we want to know more about, and digs out their great and not-so-great methods to staying healthy.
As a three-time Sports Illustrated cover model and world famous supermodel, Cheryl Tiegs knows quite a bit about being beautiful. I suppose this makes her a perfect fit for her role as judge on ABC's new reality show True Beauty, which debuts this Monday, January 5 at 10 PM. Instead of really judging the unsuspecting contestants on their physical beauty, though, Cheryl and her cohorts will be removing folks who act really ugly. That should be fun to watch.
In the gallery below, you'll find more about the show and Cheryl's beauty tricks. You just might learn something new about Cheryl Tiegs -- for example, did you know she once gained a good deal of weight? Click below for more!

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen Engaged - Expect Superbabies Soon
NFL star Tom Brady and his leading lady, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, have made it official -- the unbelievably attractive couple is engaged to be married. Brady proposed aboard a private jet on Christmas Eve, accompanied by four dozen white roses, champagne and Bundchen's parents who were visiting from Brazil. Could they be any cuter? Here at That's Fit, we're fans of both Tom and Gisele already -- they're both so fit and healthy (and dreamy, of course). While Brady's athletic prowess is well-documented -- he is one of the best quarterbacks playing professional football, after all -- Bundchen's should be noted as well. She originally wanted to become a professional volleyball player in Brazil, and with her height and work ethic, she might've had a shot. You know, if the whole "highest earning supermodel" thing hadn't gotten in the way.
Now, I'm not normally one to push a couple to have babies -- not by a long shot. However, I cannot wait to see how athletic their kids are going to be. I bet Gatorade, Nike and Oakley are already setting aside funds to scoop up Baby Bundchen-Brady's endorsement!
Update: The couple's families are denying the engagement. However, a spokesperson for Tom's team, the Patriots, says that while he doesn't think the engagement rumors are true, "Tom keeps his private life private." I'm still holding out hope for their genetically gifted offspring debuting soon!
Cardio and Core Training with Donny Osmond
Celebrity Fitzness Report, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
Today I chatted with Donny Osmond. That almost feels silly to say. Not that he's silly, but because he's been a part of my life for about as long as Santa Claus has. Fortunately, I like him even more now than I did a few hours ago. Donny has spent his entire career in the spotlight, and at 51 years of age, he looks just about as great as he ever has.
He's performing in Vegas right now and hosting a new show on ABC called Rediscovered, airing December 22 at 9 PM ET, which sounds pretty fun. Rediscovered gives adults who unsuccessfully auditioned to be a Mouseketeer 20 years ago a second chance at stardom and a $50,000 prize. Donny and Marie were sold on the concept and are enjoying the opportunity to see these "regular people" shine on stage. Read on to learn more about the show, how Donny stays fit, and whether or not he's going to take his shot at Dancing With the Stars!
Fitz: So you're back on prime-time television. What drew you to Rediscovered?
Donny: Marie and I just loved the concept. It's been amazing to see these regular people dragged out of their normal lives and put back on the stage. The show is fun, the audiences have been really receptive and the contestants have proven to be terrific.
Fitz: Since the contestants haven't been performing for a living, are any of them disastrously horrible?
Celebrity worship is good for your health!
Celebs & Entertainment, Motivation
Glued to We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs and TMZ? Count US Weekly and People among your guilty pleasures? Don't feel ashamed -- whether you're following the lives of pop stars, athletes or politicians, I think everyone has had their own case of 'celebrity worship.'
And believe it or not, there's nothing wrong with that. A recent study in Time Magazine showed that celebrity crushes can be good for your mental health, and can even boost your own self-esteem. Still, that's provided the crush doesn't go too far (stalking is so not cool,) or replace real relationships in one's life (hello, creepy!)
So go ahead and worship someone -- bonus points if you take inspiration from a fit celeb like Michael Phelps or Jennifer Lopez.

Celebrity Fitzness Report: Former NFL Wide Receiver Travis McGriff
Celebrity Fitzness Report, Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
Curious to know how celebrities squeeze fitness into their daily lives? Want to know the secrets of the stars? Bi-weekly, our That's Fit fitness expert Fitz sits down with the celebs we want to know more about, and digs out their great and not-so-great methods to staying healthy.
Travis McGriff is an elite athlete who broke records as a wide receiver at the University of Florida and then went on to play football in the NFL for both the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons. He's trained with the best coaches and trainers one could wish for and has maintained his level of fitness since retiring from football several years ago. In fact, he says he's still "game ready." Fitness is, and always will be, part of his life. He has a bunch of neat NFL stories to share, and some fantastic suggestions to get you in great shape too.
Fitz: What is training like in the NFL?
Travis: It's a lot different than one would think! In the off-season, for example, players are basically left to do their own thing. The few programs offered are OK, but not the killer workouts one would imagine. And! In the fall, the training is nill. We were basically just playing ball.
Fitz: That is weird! Most people would expect pro football players to be challenged year round.

I recently had the opportunity to spend time with Shane "Scooter" Christensen of the World Famous Harlem Globetrotters. Now, when handed the opportunity to pick the brain of a Globetrotter....I had to learn some skills! Cause quite frankly, when it comes to basketball....I have none. Well, I had none until I met Scooter. Now I know how to dunk.

I recently spent some time with Shane "Scooter" Christensen, one of the multi-talented athletes of the World Famous Harlem Globetrotters. Shane played at the University of Montana, leading his team to the NCAAA tournament in 1992 and was twice awarded the Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the year. With his combination of elite athleticism on the court and fantastic comedic and dancing skills, The World Famous Harlem Globetrotters turned out to be the perfect professional team for Scooter.

What fitness advantages do celebrities really have?
Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
Do you think your workout would be more fun and interesting if you had the same personal trainer as your favorite celebrity and even worked out in the same gym? Do you think they really have it that much better and easier than the rest of us? I'm half torn on that question myself, because although they do have unlimited funds (I would soooo have a personal chef to cook me wonderful healthy dishes for every meal!) but no matter how you scramble it weight loss and fitness are still hard work -- you can't just "order up" a fit physique. The truth is celebrities go through the same sorts of things we do, and celebrity trainers follow much the same principles for their famous clients as they do their non-famous ones. Concepts like getting into a rhythm and making a habit of fitness, finding things that are fun to do, and realizing that it's a daily conscious effort are key.
Some things are just human, money and fame or not!
How Aretha Franklin lost the weight
Aretha Franklin does not generally come to mind as a thin or small person, although recently she has successfully lost quite a bit of weight. She refuses to say exactly how many pounds she's shed, but says "I found the magic numbers on the treadmill." It sounds like it wasn't a fast process ("Slowly but surely") but she seems happy with the results. When asked if she did or would ever consider surgery she says absolutely not, stating that she has friends who have had a rough time after gastric bypass surgeries. Plus, she's happy at her current weight so why mess with a good thing?Workplace Fitness: Matt Damon on balancing career, fitness, & family
I've always thought how great it would be to have a job that naturally keeps you in shape, and of the jobs in the world that do that being a celebrity is at the top of the list. Starring in an action movie often means months of vigorous training and workouts before filming even begins, and a star like Matt Damon would know that better than anybody with his third Jason Bourne movie, The Bourne Ultimatum, out this summer.Damon, who's 36 years old, has been in famously good shape to play the ex-hitman character over the years, but this time was different: he has a family now. Damon was quoted as saying of his life before "I really used to have no life outside movies. I'd work all day, go to the gym and go to sleep." But then he married his wife Luciana back in 2005 and they now have a 1 year old daughter together, Isabella, both which give him a reason to come home after work instead of always working out. And despite the film being shot in a total of 8 different locations the family was only separated once.
The proper way to indulge like a celeb
Celebs & Entertainment, Motivation
You can still live a celebrity-esque life, even if you're not pulling in $40M per film. Take care of your hair, your skin and home and you'll feel like a star every day. For tips on indulging like a celebrity, check out this article from eDiets. And here's a tip: When mimicking a celebrity, go with a role model like Catherine Zeta-Jones, not Britney Spears. Yikes!
Hollywood's biggest guns go green, should you?
Sustainable Community, Celebs & Entertainment, Alternative & Green Health
It's no secret that one of the biggest health problems facing humanity right now is the health of the planet on which we live. Whether or not you believe in global warming (and there are plenty of folks who don't), it is hard to ignore that the Earth is not receiving the kind of treatment from its inhabitants that it rightly deserves.
Many are slow to begin making even small changes like the three R's - reducing, reusing and recycling for those not in the know. Mother Earth has got some pretty big guns on her side though, as loads of incredibly famous celebrities are making sure to do their part and also making sure that people know about it.
While the efforts of a few, or even a few hundred, celebs may not be enough to turn things around, they can certainly generate a bunch of publicity and awareness. And as we all know, what's popular among the beautiful and famous tends to become trendy across the globe pretty quick. So check out this list of stars who are doing their part to save the planet and think of what changes you can make to do yours.
