Hard Work - It Will Flatter your Figure
Diet & Weight Loss, Motivation
The office never seems as bleak as it does during the first week back at work after the holidays, huh? If that statement sums up how you feel today, you're really going to hate me when I tell you this: Working your nose to the grindstone is good for your health. According to this article from The Daily Mail, "Those who are industrious and ambitious are likely to live up to four more years than the impulsive and free-spirited among us ... They succumb less to the temptations of drink, drugs or risk-taking - which helps guarantee their health."
The long and short of it? The more you work, the more healthy your lifestyle. Which means, of course, that you're more likely to be fit and slim. So what are you waiting for? Get back to work!
Do Skinny Girls Have More Sex?
Now here's a debate to get folks talking! A report recently taken by Lighter Life, a weight loss specialist, found that a high BMI correlates to a lack of sex, thus proving that thin women get it on more often.Specifically, the report stated that 60 percent of size 8 women (UK size 8, that is, which equates to a US size 4) did the deed once a week or more, whereas 50 percent of their slightly heavier counterparts (UK size 12, or US 8) got horizontal that often. And, of women who wore a size 24 (US 20), just a third were getting busy weekly.
So should we all start dieting to rev up our sex lives? Probably not, seeing as how just a couple of months ago, another report made waves by saying that overweight women were more sexually active. To be fair, that study looked at whether or not a woman had ever had sex, rather than how often.
This all got me thinking -- are you more likely to initiate sex with your partner when you're at your fittest? Or doesn't it matter to you? Let me know in the poll, or leave a comment below!
Ricky Gervais - Are His Colourful Fat Rants Funny?
As the creator of the original version of The Office, not to mention several other hilarious projects, Ricky Gervais has made millions laugh their arses off. But his latest diatribe seems to be attracting more jeers than cheers. Gervais has been speaking out about obesity and gastric bypass surgery, and let's just say his comments are not being received well. Some examples:- "[I can't understand] why a doctor under a Hippocratic oath takes the risk of something going badly wrong, sometimes with general anaesthetic, because someone can't be bothered to go for a f---ing run. I want to say to them, 'You lazy f---ing fat pig. Just go for a run and stop eating burgers. You might f---ing die."
- "Gay people are born that way. They didn't work at becoming gay. Fat people became fat because they would rather be that way than stop eating so much."
- "I laugh about being fat, but I should be ashamed. I should walk down the street and have people shouting 'Fatty!'. That's what I want, to get me out of it."
Well, at least he acknowledges his own weight issues too. Your thoughts?
