Kelly Osbourne's five weight-loss tips

Reality TV star and socialite Kelly Osbourne hasn't been in the spotlight much these days, but she's recently been spotted looking slim and trim at various star-studded events. According to Life and Style Magazine, here's how she lost weight and improved her health all at once:
  • She munches on Organic fruits and veggies throughout the day
  • She cut out her main vice food -- cookies
  • She quit eating late at night
  • She cut out beer
  • She kept her caloric intake between 1,200 and 1,500 a day.
I'm not a fan of calorie counting, but her other diet tips sound healthy and effective. What do you think?

Margaret Cho's 'Whatever' diet

Comedian Margaret Cho has been out of the spotlight for a few years now, but she's back, and she's 40 lbs lighter to boot, after years of dieting. So which wonderful diet program finally worked for Cho? None.

Cho admits to People Magazine that she eventually lost weight by eating whatever she wants -- including ice cream, chips, fries and pizza. But she did follow two rules: Eat only when hungry, and stick to small dinners, meaning breakfast and lunch are the big meals of the day. Says Cho: "When I was on crazy diets, I'd gain weight because I would binge on diet food! I learned that any restriction on the kind of food I was eating was going to be problem. By saying I can eat whatever I want, I don't crave it as much."

You know, eating junk food when you're trying to lose weight sounds kind of crazy, but I really think she has a point here. Your thoughts?

Sarah Palin: "Running is my sanity"

She recently shocked the nation by being named John McCain's running mate in the 2008 federal election. But Sarah Palin has been her own running mate for a long time -- only this time, we're talking conventional running, the kind you do on the side of the road. She recently opened up about her healthy habits:

  • Her diet: Palin and family eat a lot of wild Alaskan seafood, moose, caribou and fresh fruit.
  • Her fitness: Palin ran seven to 10 miles a day until her pregnancy, then switched to aerobics. Nowadays, she is running around three miles a day. "Conventional running is my sanity," she says.
  • Her unhealthy habit: She skips breakfast: "I know it's the most important meal of the day but I still haven't bought into it. I hate to admit it, but a skinny white-chocolate mocha is my staple in the morning."

Love or hate her politics, it sounds like she's living well and making healthy choices despite her busy schedule. What do you think?
