An easy way to lose weight is to include more fruits and vegetables in your diet. Produce is famous for jamming massive amounts of vitamins, nutrients and fiber into very few calories. With most produce, you can consume lots of food for a very low caloric price. More bang for your buck that is!
I ask my personal training clients to try to include at least five meals per week consisting of pure produce. No meat. No grains. Most folks eat at least 21 meals per week, so this five meal plan doesn't deter anyone from getting enough protein. What it does do though, is get them to try new fruits and learn new ways to turn veggies into a meal.
Another benefit to this effort is that by keeping a few meals to just produce, you will more than likely be cutting quite a bit of calories out of the day. Over time, the more you rely on fruits and vegetables for snacks and meals, the more likely you'll be to achieve and maintain your ideal weight.

The low-calorie pumpkin -- also rich in vitamin A, potassium, and fiber -- is a known Superfood with super powers that can help save your sight, lower your blood pressure, even help you drop those unwanted pounds. Both fresh and canned pumpkin work wonders but the canned variety is the most nutritious since canning allows for the preservation of vitamins.
Are your recipe wheels turning? If so, aim for dishes that combine the healthiest of ingredients and minimal amounts of sugar.
Abortion numbers fall worldwide
A new survey this week stated that global abortions (proactively induced) dropped from 46 million in 1995 to less than 42 million eight years later in 2003. Why the decline in an age where the world gained millions of new citizens? Hard to tell, but oddly, the largest drops came from countries where the procedure is legal.
It's estimated that 20 percent of all worldwide pregnancies ends in abortion, and that abortion rates were not significantly altered by the legality of the procedure in the country where it occurred. Of the total, only about 6.6 million abortions were performed in developed nations like the U.S. 92 percent were done using safe methods in developed countries.
Be successful at losing the weight
Why should you lose weight? Okay, dumb question. But maybe not for everybody, because sometimes it's easy to get bogged down in the everyday and lose your real motivation. So make a conscious effort to find it again, whether it's to have more energy for playing with your kids/nieces/grandchildren/etc, reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke, or simply to breathe better and feel more energetic.
