Kellie Pickler - The Country Star Drops 28 Pounds and Exclusively Tells That's Fit How
Celebrity Fitzness Report, Diet & Weight Loss, Celebs & Entertainment
Curious to know how celebrities squeeze fitness into their daily lives? Want to know the secrets of the stars? Bi-weekly our That's Fit fitness expert Fitz sits down with the celebs we want to know more about, and digs out their great and not-so-great methods to staying healthy.
Kellie Pickler has gone through a wicked physical transition of the past few years. When she auditioned to appear on American Idol, at five feet tall, she weighed in as a featherweight 100 pounds. But by the time the competition and Idol tour was over, she had packed on 28 pounds in less than a year. That's a lot of weight on a very little person. The weight gain made Kellie feel bad, but one fellow celebrity (whom most people love and adore) helped her see the light and lose the weight. Read on to hear her story.
Fitz: Your body has changed a ton since you landed in the spotlight. Tell me about that.
Kellie: Oh my goodness! My body has made a big transformation. When I auditioned for Idol I was only 100 pounds and kind of riding on "the young card." Although I exercised a ton, I think I stayed thin because I was ... young! But my eating habits on Idol and the during the tour became terrible. We were always eating fast food on the road and having late night munchies. I gained 28 pounds in less than a year!
Fitz: How'd you take it off?
Happy Active Birthday To You
Fitness, Nutrition & Supplements
Eleven kids will join Danny for his birthday celebration, which will go something like this: They will run and jump and climb on a big play structure for about 30 minutes. Then they'll line up and follow a birthday coordinator who will guide them through a warm-up, all sorts of race events, and an obstacle course. Another 30 minutes here. Then they'll head into a party room for some cake before getting a few more minutes on the the play structure. Danny will open his gifts at home, because no one really wants to watch him tear them all open. It's so much more fun to get back to running, jumping, and climbing.
Ninety minutes of high-level activity awaits my birthday boy and his pals. I predict an easy bedtime tonight -- and I'm already beaming about the exercise my guy is about to get.
LeAnn Rimes shows off bikini body
Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment, Nutrition & Supplements
Country singer LeAnn Rimes, now secure with her fit, bikini-ready body, says she once turned to food for love. This eating habit, and the sedentary ways she adopted on her bus while touring, came to an end once she got herself a husband -- who happens to double as her workout partner."We both push each other to be better," says the 25-year-old.
Her diet doesn't hurt either.
"I usually eat a bowl of oatmeal with agave nectar, dried cherries and walnuts in the morning," Rimes reports. "I have a protein shake after the gym, then grilled chicken, a whole-wheat pita and humus for lunch." For dinner, Rimes might have trout with spinach sautéed in garlic and olive oil. For dessert: A piece of dark chocolate.
Rimes appears on the cover of Fitness magazine's March issue, in her bikini.

The fattest places on earth
Yes, yes, we all know that Americans are getting fatter and fatter all the time. But wanna hear some good news? In a ranking of the most obese countries, the U.S. is not #1!
Sadly, however, we are in the top 10.
This is a pretty depressing article if you ask me -- over 74% of our adult population is overweight? I guess that shouldn't surprise me, since the issue is in the news so often, but it kinda does anyway. That's a really big number.
But back to the positive, at least we're doing better than the list topper, Nauru. At the #1 spot, 94.5% of their population is overweight. For the complete list of countries ranked from fattest to thinnest, click here.
