cancer growth-related stories
Diet and growth rate both are causes of cancer
It's the belief of many (including myself) that the food you put into the body can have a drastic effect on the possibility of developing cancer. A genetic predisposition to cancer can be aggravated by an unhealthy lifestyle. At least, that's my two cents. Agree? Disagree?
What else can affect cancer? Experts said this week that the rate of growth a person experiences also has an effect on the possibility of cancer cropping up. The same report stated that growth rate is actually a larger effect on cancer than pesticides found on foods (like fruits), which was a surprise.
Taller people were found to have a higher risk of cancer than shorter people, and the report stressed the long-term influences are at the root of cancer, not just immediate problems.

Cancer set to explode in Asia
Cancer rates are seen increasing in dramatic fashion as longer lifespans and the adoption of poor Western eating habits take hold of Asian citizens in the coming decade.Lifestyle choices like smoking, drinking and eating unhealthy foods may increase, and since all are linked to various forms of cancer, the rate of several cancers is most likely going to see a significant increase.
Why are Asian citizens adopting our bad habits in increasing numbers? Who knows, although the effect cultures have on each other is now slowing down due to how global all our lives have become. Want to abstain from the possibility of cancer? Don't use tobacco, eat healthy and get regular exercise.
Diet choices help in treatment of tumor growth
Diet & Weight Loss, Nutrition & Supplements
Are you a believer in that your diet contributes to cancer and tumor growth? With the multitude of preservatives and chemicals in modern processed food, it's not hard to imagine that some of the junk we put in out bodies ends up doing a little (to a lot) harm.On the subject of brain tumors, recent research out of the U.S. states that an alternative, diet-based method can end up leading to a significant decrease the growth of those types of tumors.
The diet includes a methodology called KetoCal -- which is a commercially available high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet that was originally designed to treat epilepsy in children. KetoCal, when fed in an unlimited amount to a test group of rats, decreased the growth of brain tumors by between 35% and 65%. There are also no chemotherapy or radiation treatments or other traditional procedures used here -- the results were based solely on diet.
