KayCee Stroh - The High School Musical Star Was a Buff Bride

Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

KayCee StrohHigh School Musical star KayCee Stroh was married on January 9. And rumor has it she was a pretty buff bride.

KaCee made a wise wedding move and hired a trainer. The result: "My body mass has changed and, for the first time, my arms are strong," she says.

Looks like KaCee should be writing a thank you note to her trainer, who had her doing weight training and cardio workouts (she did the elliptical and stair climber three times a week) and is clearly the giver of the gift of fitness. Now that's a wedding gift you just can't beat. Let's just hope she doesn't decide to return it anytime soon.

Q. Hi Fitz. I keep hearing both you and other people say I should do push-ups, but I'm a small woman and don't want to bulk up. Push-ups are hard, so should I do them if I want to stay toned yet trim? Alyssa

A. Great question, Alyssa! This common question is on the mind of many women, and I'm happy to give this answer as many times as there are women who need to hear it. What you need to know is that it requires extraordinary effort for most women to put on any sort of bulky muscle. That means: protein shakes, supplements and insane amounts of heavy lifting. Of course, there are a few rare women here and there who pack on muscle quickly, but if you're already telling me you are small ... you are not one of those rare women.

The Best Chests in Hollywood

Celebrities and Entertainment, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

According to People magazine's December 1 issue touting the "Sexiest Man Alive," the guys in this gallery have the best chests in Hollywood. I have to admit, they've done a really great job of choosing the winners in this category. The only one I can think of who may have been wrongfully left out is 50 Cent. But a ton of other hottie bodies were included, so we'll forgive the People folks for that oversight.

We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs: Emmy Rossum kicks it into gear

We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

You might remember Emmy Rossum as the sweet ingenue in the film version of Phantom of the Opera (or maybe for her gorgeous red carpet appearances -- the girl just glows!). She's been in a couple of things since, then, but most recently she's filmed Dragonball, a role for which she really had to step up her fitness routine.

The actress incorporated a lot of strength training and kickboxing into her workout to get ready for the action film, saying it was "hardcore, but it was a lot of fun." She didn't notice a change in her weight, but she was aware of a change in the tightness of her body, and said, "I got really buff and strong while training."

Though she might have gotten "buff," she's continued to have a very feminine shape, which is just one more piece of evidence that working out is sexy!

Q. Hey Fitz. I blew it! I am going on vacation with a bunch of my college buddies and some hot girls in four weeks. I've totally slacked off on my workouts since school ended and now I'd like to get ripped again before we head to Mexico. What can I do at my gym to shred a bit of fat and get buff quick before the trip? I know I'm a dork for slacking, but I also know you can help me improve. I'm willing to do the work! Jason

A. Familiar story Jason! You're not the only one who's taken some time off from their fitness training only to have it blow up in your face. You're also not the first person to try and undo the damage quickly. Four weeks is a pretty decent amount of time, so if you are really clean with your eating habits and start training intensely ... I think it would be safe to take off at least 10 pounds before you see Mexico, and all of those hot girls see you!

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are Hollywood's Buffest Couple

Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel might not be fans of the paparazzi, but they're probably going to have to endure a little extra attention now that they've been named Hollywood's Buffest Couple by In Touch magazine.

You might not think that's such a big deal, but let's take a look at the competition. To take the top spot, Jessica and Justin had to beat out Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady, Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell, Fergie and Josh Duhamel, and Tony and Eva Longoria Parker. Beating out these buff bodies must have taken some hard work!

Last week, Justin was a guest on Ellen and said that Jessica sometimes works out with him and "kicks his butt," and she's "WonderWoman" in the gym. Wouldn't you love to follow them around for just one workout? I know I would!

Harrison Ford in fighting shape for Indiana Jones

Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones character will have aged in real time in his newest movie, but I swear the 66-year-old actor himself has turned back the clock. His physique this week at the Cannes Film Festival rivals that of many actors half his age.

Over a year ago, his girlfriend Calista Flockhart (whom he is reported to be marrying this summer) said Ford was working hard to get buff for the role by eating a high-protein diet with lots of fish and vegetables, wanting to make sure "Indy is as tough as he always was."

Ford performed many of his own stunts for this latest film, and Steven Spielberg said that he managed them "amazingly well, far beyond what I expected. And he did it so brilliantly and so effortlessly. He was just a little more out of breath after every stunt, just a little more -- and so was I."

Avoid getting bulky ... get lean instead

Fitness

I used to be fairly hesitant to do any sort of weight lifting because I feared that I would end up looking like those bronzed female body-builders -- while I applaud them for their determination, they kind of give me heebee jeebies. And though I want to be buff, I'd rather be yoga-teacher buff than Arnold Schwarzenegger buff ... strong but without the bulging muscles protruding everywhere. Don't you agree?

But there's no need to fear the weights -- you can get buff without getting built, and Glee Magazine has some tips that will help you do just that. Sure, it involved a little bit of hard work, but burning fat always does.

How you you keep yourself buff and not bulky?

You're only 10 minutes away from buff arms

Fitness

Your arms are one of your most noticeable body parts -- especially in summer, when sweaters are replaced with cute dresses and sleeveless tops. So why not get your pipes in great shape? It only takes 10 minutes a day, according to the fitness dude at eDiets. In addition to a healthy diet of proper proportions, there are some simple exercises you can do to get a great looking set of arms, such as:

-Biceps curls
-Tricep Extensions
-Triceps push down

For the record, I think I have a nice set of arms, and I got them through yoga. How about you?

No pain, no gain: The '300' workout

Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

The movie 300 is full of beautiful bodies -- the star, Gerard Butler's, in particular. A physique like that doesn't come easy, and what's quickly becoming famous as "The 300 Workout" is not something just anybody can, or should, try. The routine was designed by Mark Twight and includes everything from push-ups and pull-ups to dead lifts and box jumps -- reading through how the actors were trained it sounds more like a lesson in boot-camp torture than a typical day at the gym.

The actual 12 week training system Mark Twight put Gerard Butler and the other actors through in order to get in "Spartan shape" may not be something for the average Joe (or Jane) to jump right into, but if you're motivated enough to do the necessary preparations (like talking to your doctor!) then you can get there eventually. And with all the press the movie and this new workout is getting, look for some modified -- and more realistic -- versions to be hitting a gym near you.

Staying fit is hard work -- even for an Army specialist

Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Motivation

I don't know if there's any scientific proof to back it up, but to me it always seems like the more muscular you are the more weight you gain the minute you stop working out. But whether it's fact or fiction, it certainly seems to be what happened to Army specialist Maggie -- as soon as she was no longer in the military the pounds started packing on big time.

This article actually a pretty inspirational story, whether you go for the diet plan side of it or not. It's a good reminder that even the buffest of people have to work hard to stay that way!
