We've all got them: Health assets and liabilities
I just read something, somewhere, at some point during the past few days that's got me thinking -- not about how my memory often escapes me but about the topic of my reading: health assets and liabilities. We've all got them -- good health practices and bad health practices -- and it's wise to review them now and then and use them as a compass to affirm what we're doing right and steer us in more healthful directions too.Here are some of my assets.
- I don't drink soda or alcohol.
- I don't eat sweets or red meat.
- I limit bad fats, sodium, sugar, and calories.
- I eat lots of fruits and vegetables.
- I eat lots of salads, no dressing.
- I run and walk a lot, like every day.
- I maintain a healthy weight.
- My pantry is void of chips, cookies, and other packaged goods.
- Mostly, my kids snack on fruit.
- When I allow my kids to indulge, I buy single serving packages of goodies.
- I wash my hands after I go potty.
- I brush and floss.
