Foods to boost your love life

You know which foods give you more energy, and you're aware of the foods that will pack on the pounds. But, can certain foods help your love life? According to a recent article on MSN, the answer is yes!

There's a reason people have turned to aphrodisiacs throughout the course of history -- while oysters alone won't turn you (or your date) into a raging sex machine, certain foods have been shown to have a subtle effect on "how amorous you're feeling."

Want to know what foods you should order on your next date? Check out the gallery!

Green up your sex life?

You can apply eco-friendly principles to pretty much every aspect of your life. But even ... your sex life? Yep, according to this article from TreeHugger. They've listed some things you can do and products you can use to protect yourself, protect the environment and still have a great time with that special someone. Some tips?
  • Shower together. Not only do you save water, but you are sure to have a steamy time.
  • When it comes to lubes and lotions, go for the ones that are as natural as possible -- so without artificial colour, scents or tastes. You can even find organic products at some stores.
  • Try bamboo sheets on the bed -- they're sensual and slippery.
  • Try some natural aphrodisiacs. Herbs like ginseng and ginko biloba are rumored to be aphrodisiacs, plus some food items like strawberries, oysters, chocolate and wine. Know of any others?

Women just love the smell of a man's sweat

Are females attracted to that disgusting fluid that men secrete when exercising or participating in sports? Yes -- women crave male sweat. Maybe it's unconscious, but possibly true.

Some research out of California concluded that women who sniffed a chemical found in male sweat experienced elevated levels of an important hormone. In other words, smelling that sweat made the women studied in the research have higher sexual arousal rates -- along with a faster heart rate and other effects.

Need the perfect aphrodisiac this Valentine's Day to make that special encounter, well, just that more special? Drop colognes and just start sweating, guys.

Food for better sex

Fancy dinners, wine, nice chocolate -- sounds sexy, right?

Apparently not.

When it comes to sex-drive, the key is circulation, circulation, circulation. To get the blood flowing, try foods that are high in Omega-3 fatty acids (like mackerel and salmon), or L-Arginine (like nuts, granola, and chickpeas).

Women should try eating more soy. This binds estrogen receptors, which helps the vaginal area stay lubricated. Men need to know that "anything that's good for your heart, is good for your penis." For instance, artery-cloggers like saturated fats prevent blood flow to a man's genital region, which in turn effects his ability to perform.

And speaking of traditional romance -- fine dining, gourmet chocolates, late night cocktails, etc -- it should also be noted that studies show a very strong correlation between obesity and erectile dysfunction. So, next time you need to spice things up, don't be afraid to try some exercise!
