Renée Zellweger - Fat Suit, Not Weight Gain, For Next Bridget Jones

Admittedly, it's hard on the body to continually gain, then lose so much weight (E! puts the number at 30 pounds). It's not healthy to yo-yo diet, even if it is for your job. And then, there's the fact that it's just plain hard. A source told Britain's Reveal magazine that the actress had difficulty dropping the weight after the last movie in 2004. Five years later, one can't imagine it's going to be any easier!
Some reports say that the newest "Bridget Jones" will focus on our favorite diary-keeper trying to have a baby, and costume designers have plenty of experience creating fake baby bumps. But, what about her face? You can fake larger breasts, a tubbier tummy and thicker thighs with wardrobe, but will makeup be able to match her angular face to her curvy body?
Zellweger might not be willing to stay on this gain and loss roller coaster, but plenty of other stars are up for the challenge. This former "king of the world" is one of the most recent to lose lots of weight, and he's not alone.
Sarah Chalke - Klutzy, Quick, and Really Hot

Sarah Chalke is on the cover of the March issue of Fitness magazine, wearing a bikini (which actually covers more than some of the get-ups the put her in on Scrubs), and she looks thin, but toned. Still, the actress swears she eats pie, ice cream, and "hot-chocolate soup, which is basically a thick bar of chocolate melted and topped with whipped cream." Oh, and she doesn't own a scale. So, wait -- how does that work?
For starters, she doesn't do those foods all the time -- she's a healthy eater, but doesn't deny herself dessert. And she stays active in a million different ways, including hiking with her chocolate lab, Lola, or hitting the treadmill while she learns her lines. Her current favorite way to work out is Xflowsion, "a combination of martial arts, yoga and power dance." She demonstrates a few of the moves in the magazine, and I can definitely see where it would burn a ton of calories. My question is, how does she do it and not get hurt? This is a girl who's torn the ligaments in her left ankle seven times, once while in a college lecture hall (her leg fell asleep, and when she tried to stand to ask a question, she toppled right over), and another time when she stepped on a pinecone when she was out for a walk. But you know, we've all had those moments, right? If so, show your Scrubs love and leave a comment about your most embarrassing fitness injury!
90210 Star Denies Eating Disorder
Diet & Weight Loss, Celebs & Entertainment
The stars of the new 90210 have gotten a lot of press for being so slim, but Shenae Grimes, who plays Annie Wilson on the show, is fed up.She denies having an eating disorder, saying, "Just because people are callin you skinny doesn't mean I'm like, 'Yay!' No! You're telling me I don't look right." The slender star adds, "This is me, this is my body -- I have accepted it." She has a friend who struggled for years with an eating disorder, so while she's familiar with the problem, she doesn't suffer from it.
Grimes also insists that she doesn't look too thin in person, and has "[n]o bones sticking out." But, after hearing these rumors about herself, she admits that she's thinking twice about anything she's ever read about anyone else.
How A-List Stars Change Shape for Films
Diet & Weight Loss, Celebs & Entertainment
We've written before about how celebs gain and/or lose weight for certain roles. It makes their portrayals of characters more believable, but it can't be a good practice for their health. Look at how these celebs changed their bodies for a role:- Jake Gyllenhaal bulked up for his role in the upcoming film, Prince of Persia, by working out two to three times a day, six days a week. He followed that routine for three to four months, in addition to stunt training for the film.
- Irish actor Michael Fassbender lost 33 pounds in 10 weeks by severely restricting calories -- 900-1,000 calories for the first six weeks, then dropping down to 600 calories a day.
- Christian Bale survived mostly on apples and coffee when shedding pounds for his role in The Machinist.
- Robert de Niro packed on 60 pounds for his 1980 role in Raging Bull; by the end of shooting, he was visibly not feeling well.
- Renee Zellweger knows all about putting on extra pounds -- she's done it twice for the Bridget Jones movies. While she admits eating whatever you want many sound fun, she says: "After a week your glucose levels are going crazy. It doesn't feel good."
Sure, celebrities may seem to lead glamorous lives ... but a job that requires you to risk your health? As for me, I'm happier just being an average Jane.
Angelina Jolie does Pilates on her kids' Nintendo DS

There has been plenty of speculation about how, exactly, Angelina Jolie got her body back into such amazing shape so quickly after giving birth to twins, Knox and Vivienne. Did she have surgery? Or was it through diet? Most recently, the story is that she's getting in shape by doing Pilates using the kids' Nintendo DS.
"Let's Pilates" is a game in which you -- you guessed it -- do Pilates. There are ways to customize the workout and reportedly, Angelina is already on the toughest level. By following the routines for an hour, three times a week, Angelina has quickly regained her pre-baby body.Angie's not the only celeb who's found Pilates to be a fabulously effective workout. Check out the gallery below to see which other stars have a body by Pilates.
We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs: Dakota Fanning gets extracurricular

Dakota Fanning has gone from a cutie-patutie little girl to a seemingly grounded young lady, with every stage being caught on camera, making it easy to forget that she's also just a 14-year-old girl. And, just like many 14-year-old girls, Dakota is taking advantage of the extracurricular sports at her high school in Studio City, California. She's used to everyone cheering for her films, but now, she's cheering on her football team as a Vikings cheerleader. And while I have no idea whether Dakota's cheer squad is super athletic and competitive or more into hair and nails, it's still great to see a young star taking advantage of school sports.
Of course, maybe she's just getting experience -- aren't we about due for another installment of Bring It On?

We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs: AnnaLynne McCord likes to shake it up
We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
While the show isn't exactly getting rave reviews, the starlets of the new 90210 are certainly getting plenty of attention, and AnnaLynne McCord is definitely garnering her fair share by spilling some secrets about how she stays so incredibly skinny.Last month she said that she indulges in chocolate (only occasionally, of course), and now she's talking about how easily she gets bored with exercise. However, she's found something that hold her interest -- belly dancing. "It's a workout while I'm actually being challenged and entertained. I shake it a little," says the actress, adding, "That's really fun. If you're like me and you have the attention span of, like, two seconds, belly-dancing is good."
There are plenty of alternatives to spending 30 minutes on a treadmill -- I've found myself challenged by all kinds of classes, from hip hop to step aerobics. What's the most fun you've ever had working out? And keep it clean.
Jennifer Hudson's secret: 23 flights of stairs

Hudson's dream will likely never come true -- the girl is just too involved to put all her eggs in the workout basket. But she does find a way to incorporate exercise into her busy routine. Her favorite activities: Jogging and walking 23 flights of stairs in her building instead of taking the elevator. Sounds like a pretty good approach -- Hudson has transformed her busy body from a size 22 to a size 12.
Oh, the irony: Hilary Swank gains weight for a book about being slim
Renee Zellweger did it for Bridget Jones' Diary. Charlize Theron did it for Monster. Gaining weight for a movie is commonplace in Hollywood. But in the case of Hilary Swank's new movie, it certainly is unexpected. As Elastic Waist reveals, Swank will be appearing in the book adaptation of French Women Don't Get Fat -- and ironically, she is gaining 30 lbs for the role. Doesn't that totally defeat the theme of the book?
Apparently, Swank will play the manager of a champagne company that deals with French women who remain slender despite eating all the things we're told to stay away from: Bread, cheese, dessert, and so on.
Me thinks a little bit of meat on the bones of this frail-looking actress can't hurt. Though, gaining weight and losing it quickly can. Your thoughts?
Eva Mendes eats crap, still looks good
She may be committed to fitness, but overall, she doesn't have the healthiest habits. Eva Mendes recently revealed that despite her svelte figure, she's not adamant about watching what she eats. Says the gorgeous starlet: "I'd shock you at how much I could eat. Any kind of dessert is fantastic. It's gross, but I also love cup noodles. I'll eat two at a time because the salt really does it for me. They're so cheap so they can't be that good for you, but they're yummy!"
Mendes, 34, adds that the only time she is careful about eating well and exercising is when she is filming: "f I have a shoot I'll work out more and watch what I eat, but if I don't I'll let myself go. I'm addicted to bread. I want it constantly so, right now, I'm letting myself have more of it but when I start my next movie I'll cut down."
Why does she rely on junk food? Mendes also admitted that she is a terrible cook -- so bad, in fact, that she's given up trying to prepare meals.

We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs: How Raven-Symone destresses
We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment, Motivation
There's no doubt -- life as an actress can be stressful. And Raven-Symone is the first to admit that. In fact, the actress even goes so far as to say, "I do have anger issues," but she doesn't like to yell at anybody, so she's found another way to get out her frustrations -- boxing. When she's angry at someone, Raven-Symone said, "I picture that person's face that I want to yell at and I hit it repeatedly [with my] mitt."
I've actually done the same thing on a number of occasions -- beating the hell out of a heavy bag somehow makes me feel better. However, running is a great stress reliever as well. What form of exercise helps you clear your head, or puts you in a good mood?
We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs: Kate Hudson's into cross-training
We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
Earlier this year Jacki wrote about Kate Hudson's exercise habits -- basically, to get that toned physique, the actress works out all the time. However, there's more to it than just that.In order to stay in top shape, Kate cross-trains. And it's nothing fancy -- she goes for a jog, plays tennis, and does a lot of the same basic exercises you and I can step outside and do ourselves.
I'm sure she has other, more specific workouts in the gym when she's getting ready to film, but personally, I take heart in knowing that she does a lot of regular workouts. Not everyone has to have a fancy routine to look amazing, right?
We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs: Emmy Rossum kicks it into gear
We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
You might remember Emmy Rossum as the sweet ingenue in the film version of Phantom of the Opera (or maybe for her gorgeous red carpet appearances -- the girl just glows!). She's been in a couple of things since, then, but most recently she's filmed Dragonball, a role for which she really had to step up her fitness routine. The actress incorporated a lot of strength training and kickboxing into her workout to get ready for the action film, saying it was "hardcore, but it was a lot of fun." She didn't notice a change in her weight, but she was aware of a change in the tightness of her body, and said, "I got really buff and strong while training."
Though she might have gotten "buff," she's continued to have a very feminine shape, which is just one more piece of evidence that working out is sexy!
We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs: How Eva Mendes got ready for her CK photoshoot
We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs, Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
I've been seeing a lot of Eva Mendes lately, I suppose because there's been a lot of her to see -- she showed a lot of skin in a recent issue of Vogue Italia, and in her (too-hot-for-TV) ads for Calvin Klein's latest fragrance, Secret Obsession, she continues the trend. There's no disputing that she looks amazing, but it didn't come without work, and she's sharing some of her secrets.
The actress says she respects her body more, and treats it like a temple. That probably made her diet and exercise changes a bit easier. Leading up to the shoot, Eva incorporated more cardio and said, "You want to stay away from bread, carbonation ... and you don't want to eat Chinese food, as delicious as it is. That's like, serious bloating!"
