Get JLo's On-the-Go Workout for Less!
Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
Summer is on the horizon, and for many of us, that means increased travel. And, if you don't plan accordingly, travel can mean that you miss out on your workouts -- but you don't have to. Just make like Jennifer Lopez and bring some lightweight equipment along with you on the road!Lopez's trainer, Gunnar Peterson, works out his most bootylicious client using the TRX Suspension Trainer. It's portable and super light -- less than two pounds -- and, as long as you have a door or another secure point, it'll work anywhere you go!
It's definitely a cool piece of equipment -- Peterson says that Lopez does "push-ups on them, rows, hamstrings -- there's not a body part that you can't hit using it. It allows you to work with your body weight depending on the angle and how much you pull on it." However, there are some less expensive options out there when it comes to suspension training, because we don't all have $150 to throw down on a new piece of equipment, right?
A Reason to Like Big Butts

While being overweight can be detrimental to your health, having a little junk in the trunk might actually be helpful.Researchers have long known that belly fat can raise your risk for type 2 diabetes and heart disease. New research from Harvard Medical School suggests that subcutaneous fat -- the kind that tends to gather on hips and butts -- may actually help prevent type 2 diabetes.
This is great news if you've got a little extra bulk in your booty, but I wouldn't take this research as a green light to let yourself go. Eating healthful foods and maintaining a healthy weight is still your best defense against health issues like type 2 diabetes. AOL Health has some great exercises to help get your butt in shape. And remember, you can be fit and still keep your curves -- just check out the sexy stars below for proof.
Gunnar Peterson - Celebrity Trainer Reveals Which Stars Work Out Hardest
Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment
I recently had the chance to chat with Gunnar Peterson, trainer to the stars who has become somewhat of a star himself. He's been featured in too many magazine articles and television shows to count, and counts among his clients celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Hugh Jackman.Immediately after we began to talk, it became apparent why he has so many fans -- he's tough, and he knows his stuff, but he's also really likable. After teasing me about how I could be working out back to back with Hugh Jackman if only I were in the area (at which point I just died, people -- just being near Hugh Jackman would give me a cardio workout!), we got into the good stuff, like which of his celebrity clients hit their workouts hard, and what we should be doing to maximize our gym workouts.
You know how some stars look amazing all the time, whether they're out promoting a film or not? Turns out that it's not magic. "Some are genetically geared toward being fit," said Gunnar, "but the ones who are consistantly in great shape work out hard." Of course, there are clients who only come in when they have a photoshoot coming up, or because their manager or agent made them, but Gunnar sees plenty of celebrities who are always ready to work up a sweat.
