We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs Weekly Roundup: April 25, 2008

We Love To Gawk At Fit Celebs Weekly Roundup, Celebs & Entertainment

Ashlee Simpson gives an interview to Shape magazine and talks about engaged life (it's fantastic), the tabloid gossip (it doesn't bother her anymore), and her workout, which generally takes place at her home and consists of using some weights and machines. However, her trainer added that much of her workout doesn't use equipment -- it uses her environment. She runs down her stairs, does lunges around her pool, runs back up, and does squats. Now if only we all had flights of stairs and fabulous pools to exercise around ...

Sex and the City hottie Jason Lewis tells I'm Not Obsessed his trick for keeping fit -- he grills all his food. Tasty! Grilling, I mean. Not him. Well, maybe him. I'm flustered!

Jennifer Garner is featured in the May issue of Self and talks about her love of the farmers' markets during the summer as well as how much sunscreen she wears on a daily basis. Not only is she fit and beautiful -- she a smart and healthy role model, too!

Jennifer Garner's latest cause: The flu shot

Celebrities and Entertainment, Diet & Weight Loss, Celebs & Entertainment

Award-winning actress and tabloid target Jennifer Garner is supporting the new cause -- the flu shot. She's recently joined the American Lung Association's Faces of Influenza education campaign as the national spokeswoman, and she's speaking out on the importance of getting your flu shot. Lois and Clark actor Dean Cain is also promoting the cause.

Garner, 35, says "One in three children get influenza, and more than 100 children die every year from this disease -- these are facts that no mother or parent wants to hear."

Have you had your flu shot? If you have frequent contact with children or senior citizens, it's a must. And it's not too late to get it, though sooner is better.

I've often wondered how celebrities manage to stay so slim and toned all the time. Is there something in that Hollywood water? If it because they can afford personal chefs? Jennifer Garner uses the weights -- you should too!

Fitness

The baby weight's gone and now Jennifer Garner is buffing up for a new movie by using the weight machines at the gym, according to these photos on Fitsugar. As the Fitsugar people point out, it's nice to see a celebrity that actually tried to tone their body rather than letting themselves shrink to skeletal proportions.

Jen's got the right idea -- the best way to get a hot bod is through resistance training. Sure, cardio will melt the fat, but using weights will increase your metabolism and will make those problem areas look great. If you're still hesitant to use the weights, check out these great tips that Tanya posted a few weeks ago.

Celeb diet philosophies: Which do you agree with most?

Celebs & Entertainment

In this celeb-obsessed world,we're always interest to know what celebrities think of everything, from politics to war to other celebrities and everything in between. So it's no surprised that we're also keen to know they're eating and exercise habits, especially since they all seem to be so svelte.

So when I saw this quiz from Fit Sugar asking which celebrity diet philosophy I agree with, I had to see which celeb I identified with most when it comes to healthy living. Turns out its Scarlett Johansson, who says, "I'm not really the type of girl who goes jogging at 6 a.m., but I eat well and I walk a lot." I also agree with Gwen Stefani, who says "It's simple math: You put this much food in, you burn that much working out."

Which celebrity do you identify with?
