Dancing With the Stars Season 8 - Who Will Blast the Fat This Time Around?

Fitness

Steve WozniakDancing with the Stars has become as known for its, well, dancing (obviously) as it has its tendency to whip a few butts into shape. 90210 favorite Jennie Garth swears by the fitness benefits of DWTS -- she dropped a bunch of weight and slinked back into her skinny jeans after her season on the dance floor. The hard-core dance training was just so much better than Jennie's usual pilates and cardio sessions.

Another DWTS season looms on the horizon, which means a whole new batch of celebs are headed for the workout that tops all workouts. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to watch the body transformations unfold.

Take a look at the newly-revealed cast in the poll below and tell us whose body you most want to watch when the dance begins on ABC on March 9. Many contestants already look great and will only get better. A few have some progress to make. And I'm thinking Steve Wozniak, Apple guru and friend of Kathy Griffin, has a lot to gain -- well, lose.

Dancing - The Celebrity Secret to Being Slim, Rich and Happy?

The Passion Principle, Fitness, Motivation

Every Monday, That's Fit's very own "charged up" wellness guru Laura Lewis presents The Passion Principle, a weekly guide that will help you achieve your greatest potential through words of inspiration, cutting-edge ideas and action tips you can use in your every day life!

Do celebs benefit from dancing in ways other than just having a good time at some of the coolest clubs around? As a person who loves to dance, yet one who is also interested in how positive thoughts and feelings can impact our lives, I have pondered if celebrities who frequent the nocturnal world of dance clubs may use it as a means to not only stay fit, but to also stay in a positive frame of mind.

Now why would I want to ponder that idea? Because I am a firm believer, along with many others like Bob Proctor, John Assar, Louise Hay and even Joel Osteen, that being in a positive frame of mind can affect what you attract into your life. I cannot help but believe that dancing and movement in general makes you feel happy, and can help you to not only burn calories but also help you attract positive people, circumstances and opportunities into your life.

Marissa Jaret Winokur Wants You to Dance Your Butt Off

Diet & Weight Loss, Celebs & Entertainment

Marissa Jaret WinokurAfter strutting her stuff on Dancing With the Stars, Marissa Jaret Winokur is going to put a new spin on dancing. Winokur is scheduled to host Oxygen's new weight-loss program, Dance Your A** Off. (You know what the asterisks are in place of, right?)

Dancing is a great way to shed those extra pounds. It's undeniably fun -- and fun is a key ingredient for motivation. Dancing With the Stars -- while certainly not intended for weight loss -- has had its fair share of weight loss success stories. It's pretty inspiring when you see celebs with a little extra padding tone up and slim down by the end of the season.

Want to try to boogie those pounds off at home? Check out this post for some suggestions for dance fitness DVDs.

Jennie Garth forgot about her body

Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment, Motivation, Nutrition & Supplements

Jennie Garth returns to 90210Stress can certainly take a toll on our health; Jennie Garth is no exception. The actress is back on 90210, showing us what her popular character, Kelly Taylor, is like as an adult. But earlier in the year things weren't exactly sunny in Garth's life.

Within a span of six months, her daughter became ill (and was later diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis) and her father passed away. Garth said "I didn't think about my looks or my weight or my body or anything." She goes on to say that she didn't exercise, eat healthfully, and that she gained weight and inches as a result.

As much as we all hope our lives stay stable and uncomplicated, everyone is bound to hit a rough patch now and then. And, unfortunately, many of us will encounter periods of extreme stress, like Jennie Garth did. It's definitely hard to continue focusing on your health when everything else seems to be falling apart. But that is the most important time to take care of yourself.
