Heavy metal addiction?
It's official, you can now be addicted to anything -- shopping, food, the Internet, and now heavy metal music.
At least that's the news from Sweden, where Roger Tullgren, a 42-year-old heavy metal fan who underwent psychological analysis, and will now receive state benefits for his "disability." Sweden's Employment Service has agreed to pay part of Tullgren's salary (he is a restaurant dishwasher) because heavy metal music is such a demanding presence in his life.
Even Tullgren's employer is making special allowances for his "addiction," by letting him skip work for concerts, wear his rocker gear while on the job, and listen to music as loud as he wants.
"The fact that I am so into music has affected my work situation to the extent that I have had to quit some jobs," Tullgren told his local newspaper. He adds, "Some might say that I should grow up and learn to listen to other types of music but I can't. Heavy metal is my lifestyle."
Rock on, dude.
