Goldie Hawn Still Looks Great - But What Happened to Kurt?
They've been together for more years than the ages of the girls from The Hills combined (or at least it seems that way ... ) -- so what is Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's secret to surviving the Hollywood relationship curse? Maybe it has something to do with taking time out of their busy schedules to frolic in the sun and surf on a recent vacation in Hawaii. But while Goldie's girlish figure impressed the paps, photos of Kurt's bulging belly elicited headlines like 'Russell Shows Too Much Flesh.' What gives?True, Hawn does look fantastic for her age (63) and Kurt, six years her junior, is looking a little chunkier these days judging by the photos, but I don't think he looks that bad. Plus, it's not like he's baring all by wearing a Speedo or anything.
What do you think -- should the press lay off Kurt, or does he need to schedule some sessions with Goldie's personal trainer?
Barack Obama - The Campaign Trail Did His Body Good

The Obama family has a Christmas tradition of visiting the President-elect's home state of Hawaii. This year is no exception. And, while Barack Obama is ridiculously busy selecting cabinet members and preparing for his transition to the White House, I'm glad to see he's keeping a family tradition intact. Daily Mail has a photo snapped of President-elect Obama while on vacation, and he's looking kind of ripped. Not surprising, really. We already knew how important fitness is to the Obama family. What is surprising is when you scroll down the Daily Mail article and see the photo of Barack Obama that was taken on his vacation last year.
When you compare his abs from 2007 to 2008, it appears that in the midst of his hectic and stressful campaign, Barack Obama has toned up. Whatever your opinion of our up and coming President is, you have to admit that's inspirational. If he can find the time to get more fit while campaigning to be President of the United States, than surely the rest of us can find time, too. And, as Barack Obama certainly knows, physical activity is the healthiest way to manage your stress level.

My guest this week became famous as one of the hot, yet capable babes of Charlie's Angels. This role that burned Cheryl Ladd's name and face into our minds forever, in my opinion, will not in the end, be what we remember her for. We spoke recently both over the phone and in person, and she definitely showed a side of her I hadn't expected to see.
Although stunningly beautiful, and more capable of turning heads at age 57 than most women are at 25 ... Cheryl's most impressive quality in my book is her willingness to take care of other women. She's investing a lot of time in guiding and educating other Baby Boomer women about menopause. Menopause is often a taboo, hush hush topic. But Cheryl has embraced her age and stepped up to the plate to help make her personal experience with menopause an educational experience for others. She shared a bunch of private experiences with me and offered advice for growing more beautiful each year. Read on to learn how to age as gracefully and gorgeously as she has.
Fitz: You're an iconic figure in beauty. You've aged flawlessly, and to me ... you're prettier today than you were 30 years ago starring in Charlie's Angels. What can we do, to be more like you?
Cheryl: First of all, I think it's most important for women to have a close relationship with their doctor. It's important to trust your doctor, so when things go weird you are comfortable addressing the situation and taking care of things. Be proactive with your health! You also have to love yourself! Beauty comes from the inside first.
Fitz: Well your outside is pretty fantastic too. Let's start with your fitness routine. What do you do to stay in such great shape?

Spend less on water and you'll have more for gasoline

I, like many fitness professionals around the world, am a huge proponent of drinking lots of water. The benefits are tremendous and should even be considered necessary. What I am not a huge proponent of though, is the need to buy bottled water consistently. Of course some times it is perfectly appropriate to do, and the best choice for the moment. But bottled water shouldn't need to be a staple in your day.
A better choice would be to get yourself a couple of reusable bottles, containers, jugs etc...., and refill them when they're empty. My guest this week has something many of us have dreamed of having; Olympic Gold and a successful professional career traveling the world as an athlete. Russian born skater, Ilia Kulik, is living the dream and spent some time with me to chat about it. Ilia endured many grueling years of competition which lead him to win an arsenal of shiny medal, including some heavy gold in Nagano, Japan in February 1998.
It was fun hearing of the ease in which Ilia prepares and performs magically on ice around the world today. He's now enjoying his work on the Smuckers, Stars on Ice tour. This father of two shares some unique insight on the lifestyle and fitness habits of a former world champion. Has he maintained the ability to perform jaw-dropping jumps? Has he gained weight from a decrease in training? Read on to find out!
Fitz: What goes through your head while actually skating for the Gold Medal during the Olympics?
Ilia: You know, I worked very hard on only focusing on techniques and my skating routines. Nerves can kill you, so the most important rule about competition is to conquer nerves. I didn't have time to be nervous, I had to focus on every detail of what I was doing.
Fitz: That is really hard to do! Were you actually able to do that?
Ilia: Yes! In fact I was perfect in concentration. That's why I had success.
Fitz: What was going through your mind when you were standing on the podium being awarded Olympic Gold?
Ilia. Ahh! I was exhausted! I was trying to relax, but it was very hard to do and I was very tired. It wasn't until a couple of days later that I really got a grasp of what I had actually accomplished. In fact, my wife won two Olympic Gold medals. She too, was overwhelmed with her first victory. She says she enjoyed the second win much more though. She was able to relax and absorb it all.
The healthiest place for women? Honolulu!

The country's healthiest place for women -- according to Self magazine, anyway -- is Honolulu with low obesity and depression rates and good air quality. The city lost points for high property crime rates, low number of health clubs, and long commutes. The unhealthiest is the Motor City. Detroit's high rates of obesity and violent crimes -- twice the national average -- sent it to the bottom of the list. In its defense, however, Detroit scored points for its high number of parks, low drinking rates among women, and good dental health.
I'm not sure exactly how Self developed their ranking scale or if this information even means anything, but it's kind of interesting to look at. If you live in one of the cities on the list, let me know what you think of your ranking and if it seems appropriate.
