30 reasons to get walking
Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Nutrition & Supplements
Need inspiration to get those feet moving? Don't feel bad -- we've all been there. Whether we're suffering from a severe lack of energy, a lull in our motivation or we're just turned off by the crappy weather, walking sometimes takes the back burner to more important activities, like, say, relaxing.
So for those of you who need a reason to get moving, here are 30 reasons to walk--one for each day in September--courtesy of MBT Shoes. Here's a small sample of the reasons:
- It's free
- It's good for you
- You get much-needed fresh air
- It's good for the environment
- More here.
What are your reasons for walking?
Daily Fit Tip: Let the sun shine in
The sun has the power to fade your furniture and make your house unbearably hot. It also has the power to uplift you, to make your day, to turn your bad mood into a good one. Sunlight is necessary for health, and if you ask me, it's also necessary for creating a good mood. So at your home or office of wherever else you spend your day, instead of hiding away behind your curtains, let the sun shine in and uplift you. And while you're at it, go for a walk and enjoy the sunlight. We don't get sunlight everyday of the year, so when you've got it, use it. And while you're at it, open a window and allow some fresh air into your life. It's refreshing, especially now that the days are a bit cooler.
Daily Fit Tip: get up early and walk around the block!
It's here: those nice mornings where it's a shame to be inside. You get up and the weather is just right and the wind is not blowing (hopefully). After having been cooped up in the house all winter, isn't it about time you started spending some time outside?Take a walk in the brisk morning air as soon as you get out of bed. No makeup or special clothes, just some walking shoes and maybe a hat. Go outside and walk for about 20 minutes.
Not only will this give your morning a kickstart and invigorate your day, but you'll be burning a few calories as well. A bonus is that it will feel so good you may want to start a new habit.
