Remember how I told you about the young girl who ran 40 miles a day, and how there was an outcry that this was a form of child abuse? Well, here's a story that's even more shocking -- A 10-year-old girl in China had her hands and feet bound by her father and had to spend 3 hours swimming across the Xiang River. Wow -- that seems like something you might do if you were a hitman; not a father.

But the father insists that she wanted to do it as a challenge. See, she's got a goal to swim the English channel and thought this would be a good way to challenge her already-perfect swimming skills. Still, would you ever bind your child's feet and throw them in the water? I hope not. There's a point where a parents' competitiveness gets out of hand, and I think that point is long past for this family.
