Even if you don't have allergies to felines, a new study out of Europe shows that cat dander can still cause breathing issues with many adults. It's interesting that hair from a mammal can give some allergies, but being one of them, cat dander is just not on my list these days. I have to stay far away.

The study looked at the airways of those with an allergic sensitivity to cats but found that even those with no specific allergy to cats seemed to have similar bronchial problems to those with cat allergies.

But, the subjects without cat allergies were indeed found to have a response to other allergens like dust mites and mold. The "bronchial responsiveness" is a term that is connected with asthma, as it describes the amount of constriction in the airway.
