Brooke Shields and husband love boxing
A couple that stays together ... watches fights together? Taking in violent matches with your spouse might not seem like the key to a long and happy marriage, but it works for Brooke Shields and hubby Chris Henchy. The lovely Shields recently revealed what the two do for fun -- they watch boxing matches.Better watching a fight together than participating in one. What does Brooke do to stay fit? Shields reveals, "I spin and I do yoga and that's it... I can carry my kids and I can dance and my legs get me through Broadway shows. And to me, when they function for me and not just look a certain way, then I feel lucky."
Hmm ... she stays fit without letting it control her life. She sounds like my kind of fitness role model. Your thoughts?
Week in Review: September 15 to September 21
This week, we finally saw the last of Hurricane Ike, after it finished wreaking havoc from Texas all the way to the Northeast. Ike was big and mean, and our thoughts are with our readers impacted by the devastation and destruction this storm caused.
Here's what else we've been talking about this week:
- Hey, you're exercising. That's great! But are you making one of these three fitness mistakes?
- Brooke Shields shows off her Calvin Kleins -- the exact pair she wore at age 15. How does she do it? Kristen dishes the dirt.
- Wrinkles bothering you? Get a face lift... for your refrigerator!
- Working out at home is an easy way to get fit. But what if your house could help you work out?
- Got some time to burn today? Use it wisely -- burn an extra 500 calories!
- Blogging's a great hobby, we'll agree. But not if it causes you to gain weight. Find out more about blogger bloat.

Are you tired of hearing about Jennifer Lopez's triathlon yet? She completed it last weekend. Find out whether she crossed the finish line with flying colors or not here.
There's no doubt that Jennie Garth looks just as good on 90210 this time around as she did the first time the series aired, but to get her body in rocking shape, she's relying on one really interesting technique -- keeping her muscles confused.
Brooke Shields still fits into teenage jeans!

In 1980, when Brooke Shields was just a teenager, she did a few Calvin Klein jeans ads with the famous tagline, "You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing." It appears the same has held true nearly 30 years later -- she showed up at a party for the designer's 40th anniversary wearing the same jeans. And yep, those are it in the picture.
Aside from the Calvins, Brooke obviously has pretty good genes of her own. But, genetics alone doesn't allow a 43-year-old woman and mother to fit into jeans she wore when she was 14 or 15, and Brooke shared a couple of her slim-down secrets, including cutting down on carbs.
She said, "If I stay away from too much carbohydrates, I'm usually better off," but that doesn't mean she deprives herself, adding, "I don't want to go through life not enjoying." In addition to watching her diet, she keeps her body buff by spinning and practicing yoga. Keep doing whatever you're doing, Brooke -- it's working!

How much will Kim Kardashian dare to bare on Dancing With The Stars? That all depends on how the show's rigorous training affects her booty.Ashley Jensen of Ugly Betty doesn't think she's all that pretty, but she doesn't think she's unattractive, either. She's confident in who she is, and has a problem with the way so many women bend over backward to achieve the Hollywood standard of ideal beauty. Don't expect to see her at the plastic surgeon anytime soon!
Movie stars often are required to gain weight for a role, as Beyonce did recently in order to portray Etta James. While she enjoyed packing on the pounds (and being paid to do so), she was a little less thrilled when filming was over.
Surgical mommy makeovers
Womens Health, Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness

I get this twisted sense of satisfaction when I see a young celebrity sporting her first pregnancy bump in magazine pics. I think to myself, "Ha! Now you'll see how difficult it can be to recover your figure after gaining 35-plus pounds." When celebs share they "can't wait to breastfeed", I recall how beautiful it was to breastfeed my children, followed by another twisted thought, "Watch out perky-breasted girl, your boobies will never, ever be the same."
Surgical mommy makeovers are getting more popular these days. A full mommy makeover involves a breast lift with or without implants, a tummy tuck and liposuction. These can be effective techniques to restore an hourglass figure often left shattered in the aftermath of pregnancy. I've had plenty of friends who lost all the weight, but as one friend described, "After breastfeeding, my C cup boobs hung like tube socks with a golf ball weighing down each end." She ended up with an excellent boob job.
Last year, 325,000 dissatisfied moms ordered a mommy makeover procedure, up 11 percent from the year before. Hey moms, if you had an extra $12,000-$15,000 would you partake in surgical solutions to sagging breasts and rounder middles? For those who've gone under the knife, are you pleased with the results?
