So Not Hot Celebs - These 11 Should Make a Fitness Resolution

Fitness, Celebs & Entertainment

All of us at That's Fit love to gawk at fit celebs. But there are quite a few celebrities who don't fall into the "fit" category. Some have obviously never embraced fitness. Others have danced on the fitness yo-yo, giving us sneak peeks at how great they can look, only to fall back into bad habits. And some have let their former hotness fade under layers of fat.

But we think 2009 can be their year. This year, we hope those super-skinny celebs put on a few healthy pounds, that new celebrity moms lose the baby weight in a healthful manner and that out-of-shape celebs make fitness their New Year's resolution.

2009 - Every Meal is a Chance to Do Better

The Good, The Fat and The Hungry, Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness, Nutrition & Supplements

Welcome to the Good, the Fat and the Hungry. I'm Karla and I have been -- or am -- all those things. Here, I will share with you my lifelong struggle with my weight, and I hope you'll follow along on with my determined attempt to lose nearly 40 pounds. I promise to tell you every win and setback along the way every Tuesday and Friday.

ornamentsWell, 2008 has drawn to a close. As I do at every year's end, I am experiencing a mix of pride and self-disappointment. I started the year wearing a size 18-20 and am ending it in a firm size 12. Many would consider this a reason to celebrate. Normally I would, too. However, as my trainer Jake so often reminds me, I could have done better. I have few regrets over this last year but ironically, they are related to fitness and healthy eating. Fortunately, every meal is a chance to do better.

In no way does this discount the many changes I have made. I am proud of the fact that I am investing in my own fitness and actually look forward to my sessions with Jake. I take the initiative to follow through on days without him and even do the routines as instructed. Most of the time. That's better than rarely or never. My hope is that in the new year, it will be always.

The Best of 2008

Some of our scoop is helpful -- stuff you can take action on right away. Some is inspirational -- people and events who can motivate you to become more fit. Some of it is just plain odd, because we all need a laugh from time to time.

Now here we are in the last days of 2008. So, inspired by Health.com's America's Healthiest lists, we've decided to comb through That's Fit's Best Tips of 2008. Check back each morning at 10 AM between now and the New Year for a new "Best of..." list. And, just for the fun of it, we might throw in a "Worst of..." list or two for good measure.
