Hillary proposes health care for all

Diet & Weight Loss

Other than the war in Iraq, health care will likely be a pivotol issue guiding many voters in the upcoming presidential campaign. Senator Hillary Clinton will be announcing her health care plan in Iowa on Monday. Her proposal would require all Americans to get health insurance. Large employers would be required to either provide insurance or help pay for it. The government would subsidize those with low incomes. Insurance companies would have to sell policies to all applicants, and could not stick sick people with higher premiums.

Yes, good health is connected to diet, exercise and other comprehensive health topics shared on this blog. But it also relies on health care insurance -- something 47 million people in this country do not have. For those lucky enough to have insurance, their premiums have doubled since Hillary's first health care plan was soundly defeated back in 1993. We all feel the pain.

Senator Clinton is smarter this time around. Her plan is negotiable and she's conversing heavily with big business. This country's health care is in a state of crisis and we have to do something about it. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 15.3 percent of Americans are medically uninsured. Which presidential candidate will offer a better alternative acceptable to a majority of voters? Read more about Senator Clinton's efforts and an overview of other candidate proposals on health care in the Wall Street Journal. It's an issue they're all talkin' about.
