Set boundaries for your children and stick to them. If they don't like it, simply tell them that it's your responsibility to teach them. Short and sweet. May 13th 2011 7:43AM THIS is exactly what so many women do in this country to themselves. They want to "look better" and I think this is self abuse as well...or DENIAL of the fact that we all age. Those wrinkles should be looked at as a badge of knowledge. Instead, women are accepting this superficial thinking. The mere fact a child is put in these competitions is abusive and sends the message to the child that it's what's on the outside that counts. It's our own fault when we get kids who are shallow and insecure. Whatever happened to the "beauty is skin deep" saying? I guess that was a lie.
