Jan 11th 2011 7:41AM And I quote: "...hampering that child's ability to succeed in life..." This comment just flat out sucks. Our American school system really thinks too highly of itself. I think if the school system wants to help a child succeed they need to step up to the plate and improve the school system nationwide by offering NUTRITOUS LUNCHES, and offering to teach a second language (such as SPANISH or MANDARIN CHINESE or INDO. or ARABIC) because this is clearly much needed. How about some basic life skills? Such as how to sew? knit? darn? make butter or cheese? identify wild herbs? how to use those herbs medicinally or in the kitchen? make a poultice? tinture? build a shelter? or solar panels (oh no we cant have that! what would the power company do!)? Our school system turns out mediocre, insecure people destined to sit behind desks under flourcent lights for the rest of their lives AT BEST...uggg. But, I don't guess that's what this article is about...wow are the parents in this state really that bad???!!! PARENTS FIGHT BACK!!!!

Dec 18th 2010 8:45AM Yeah, Walmart sure did go up on their prices, and they didn't get my business yesterday either! A toy that was $50 at Walmart was $28 at Target. Whoever is in charge of Walmart is really screwing it up! First bad move--getting rid of layaway, and it's been all down hill from there. Now, I don't got to Walmart for anything!

Sep 21st 2010 5:30PM First, buy this book: The Thyroid Diet by Mary J. Shomon, then ask your doctor about the different meds available to folks with hypothyroidism. I am hypo-thyroid, and I was on Synthroid for years. It did not work for me. I am now taking Armour, and I am feeling much better. Synthroid is just synthetic T4, Armour is natural T1, T2, T3 & T4. There is also Cytomel which is T3 (T4 is inactive in the body and is converted to T3 by the body...perhaps more inactive (synthetic) T4 isn't the answer for some of us...)anywho, find a good endocrinologist that will listen to you and is open to different meds (other than synthroid) and read as much as you can. Mary Shomon is an advocate for those of us with thyroid disease. I recommend reading her books. Good luck. (also, do cut the pesticides out. It couldn't hurt! Buy soft fleshed (strawberries etc) fruits and vegs organic but anything with a peel such as oranges and bananas should be ok non-organic. Again, good luck to you!

I would demand to be let go in person and would not accept a text as a formal dismissal. I would return to work the next day as usual and would continue to do so until i was "called into the office" and given the dreaded pink slip (which by the way better have a damn good reason on it or i'm riding that unemployment check as long as I can just to be an asshole...) . Mar 9th 2010 12:27PM This child should be allowed to attend the school (it's not his/her fault that his/her parent's are gay/human/sinners/etc.); however, the parents need to understand the ramifications of their decision--because the child will come home from school one day and tell them that he/she learned in school that being gay is not okay with God.

The gay community is getting ridiculious with their demands for universal acceptance/tolerance...why don't they invent their own religion complete with a calf for a god which accepts their perversion against nature and will allow them to get married in their "church". Gay folks--go to the courthouse and get married...if it's legal where you live...and why shouldn't it be? (any license that the state can issue it can control by the way...duh) but leave the church out of your demands! Enough is enough...

Feb 17th 2010 7:52AM Wow...I don't know what to say...I understand the concept, and I see it going on around me, but this issue doesn't pertain to my relationship with my husband...we don't argue about money...we do argue, mostly about time...we are given so little time here...why spend most of it trying to get money just to leave it to your children?...let them make their own money and build character while they are at it...hey Bible story guy/gal that told the story about Samson--loved it, and these folks just don't get it--i guess, but hey, didn't Solomon say something about striving all your life for money and what foolishness it is?...I know something that is worth more than money--KNOWLEDGE. Can any of you, right now, name me three wild herbs growing in your yard/neighborhood right now? Without having to go look or googling it? Do you know how to make sugar? soap? do you know how to darn? or knit? or sew? do you know how to build a shelter for yourself and those you love? do you know love? Do you know your place? Or, your purpose? if something has a function, and you might do something with it, do you know how to do it? If not, my goodness, WHY!? If not, wow, you're screwed...do you know it?
