Keep a running log

Keep track of the miles you're logging. Include where you went, how far, your time, how you felt, or any other information you find interesting at the time. Not only will it help you discover useful patterns (like every time you have Mexican for dinner the night before, you run like a deer -- who'd have thought?), but it'll be great motivation for you on those days you don't want to lace up your shoes.
