"White" or processed grains
"White" or refined grains are grains that have had the bran and the germ removed. The problem is, those are the two most nutritious parts of the grain! Eating a diet rich in refined grains can leave you constipated, a condition that leaves you feeling bloated and uncomfortable. Choose foods that have "whole wheat flour" as the first ingredient on the label or that say 100% whole wheat. Brown rice, barely, oatmeal, and popcorn are other whole grain options.
