Tofu

If you've had it before and didn't like it, you might need to try it again. Tofu gets a bad reputation because too many people have tried it without much flavoring, or while it was mushy. Prepared properly, it can be a great meat replacement (look up "dry fry tofu" for tips on making tofu your whole family will eat), but it's also delicious added in with meat dishes. Get creative -- it can make a dip super creamy or add some texture to soup (like Miso).
