Have you ever felt like you needed a vacation from your vacation? That's how I feel! Last week was spent hiking rugged, strenuous trails, using our bikes to get everywhere, and swimming in crystal clear lakes. I think I may have even came back fitter than when I left, despite a steady diet of take-out all week! If you're looking for new ways to get fit, check out some of this week's posts:

  • It's hard to get in your fiber while on vacation, but there's a new reason why you should try to eat enough every day: It's good for your lungs.
  • I climbed a lot of small peaks last week with some pretty steep drops, and never once did I consider jumping over them. Bev tells us about the adrenaline junkies who do in her post about rock jumping.
  • Super athletes used to show up on a box of Wheaties. Find out which superstar fumbled when he endorsed Frosted Flakes instead.
  • Feel like going shoe shopping? Laura tells us how high heels may improve your sex life.
  • Whether you're working out or just trying to get through the afternoon slump, Maggie's got the dirt on the top 5 energy bars.
  • Fitz never fails to get people talking with her posts about smoking. Find out what quitting smoking has to do with getting a new face.

Have a great week everyone!

School starts for my kiddos tomorrow, which pretty much means summer is over for our family of four. Back to early bedtimes, homework routines, and all sorts of fun learning. If you are in the market for learning during this back-to-school season, you might want to study up on these great posts.

  • It's a good thing school is about to start, because most kids put on weight over the summer months. This post tells all.
  • Could it be those large, hot, gooey pretzels that are packing the pounds on your kids -- and you? Martha says it's a real possibility.
  • Want to shed a few and get in tip-top shape? Kristen shares some Olympic secrets that will set you on the right track.
  • Maggie lets us in on some weight training Do's and Don'ts.
  • We're on a roll in the fitness department this week. Fitz wants you to try this cool tool for bettering your pull-ups, push-ups, dips, decline rows, scull crushers, planks, and more.
  • Bev might be headed for a marathon soon -- if she can build up her tolerance for lots of beer. Intrigued? Check out the full story here.
  • Chris tells us to pay attention to the carbs we get from fruits and veggies.
  • And Debra tells us to hurry up and enjoy what's left of summer with these healthy frozen drinks.
