Stinky Feet? See Ya!

It's inevitable. You go to the gym before work, shower, and put on your slip-on shoes. But then, halfway through the day, there's a distinct funk coming from beneath your desk -- you've got some stinky feet!

There are plenty of solutions, like wearing shoes with socks, or pouring powder into your shoes. However, I've found something better -- Verikira's Paraben-free Fresh Feet Foot Crème. It's 82 percent organic and contains vinegar, which is one of the best cures for funky feet you can find. But your feet won't smell like vinegar -- it also uses essential oils of patchouli, tee tree, thyme, basil, geranium, and cinnamon.

The best part? It totally works! I put it on in the morning, and then, whether I work outside, sweating in my dirty sandals, or hit the gym, soaking my gym socks with sweat, my feet don't stink. And, at the risk of entering TMI territory, let me say that this has never been the case for me.

Hold your head up high - the chin is your key to beauty

Hold your head up high. it's more than just a saying, it's a beauty secret -- one that most photographers like myself already know. Sucking in your chin and holding it up is and easy way to take pounds -- and years -- off your face, according to this article from The Daily Mail.

And just as exercise helps your body become taut and slim, exercises for your face can help slim the chin. Says facial fitness expert Eva Fraser: "By exercising certain muscles in the face for ten to 15 minutes, several times a week you can maintain, or even recreate, a good jawline. There's no magic wand, but as long as you have the discipline and patience to maintain it, this method is far more effective than any facelift."

Complimentary haircut and make-up will also do wonders for your chin. Share your beauty tips in the comments below. And check out the gallery below for clothing that will slim your shape.

Fit Beauty - von Natur Mineral Makeup is worth the price

I won't to lie to you -- I don't generally spend a lot of cash on makeup. I buy what you find at the drugstore, and even then, I look for a sale. My reasoning is simple -- I've never used something high end that felt like it was worth the price. If it's not all that different, why would I pay more?

There are reasons to pay more -- being particular about the ingredients is one, and of course, if it's can't-live-without-it amazing, I'm happy to save my pennies. But first, I need to know it's worth it.

I received samples of von Nature's Mineral Makeup Eye Colour, Sunset Light Face & Body Shimmer, and Magnolia Powder Foundation in the mail, and busted out my brushes immediately. For someone who is so involved in fashion and beauty, I have embarrassingly little experience with mineral makeup because it tends to cost more, and without trying it, I wasn't willing to spend the extra cash.

Fit Beauty: Body Scrubs 101

Most women are familiar with body scrubs, even if they don't use them. Scrubs are designed to get rid of dead skin and rough patches, leaving you with skin that's smoother, healthier-looking, and more radiant.

However, certain types of scrubs are great for your body, but not your face -- and vice versa. Additionally, if you're working on a particularly dry, scaly area of skin, like your elbows or your heels, you need a whole other level of scrubby goodness to get the desired effect.

Check out the gallery to get schooled in Body Scrubs 101. There's a little homework involved in the form of DIY scrubs, but don't worry -- a successfully scrubbed post-bath body is all you need to get an A!

Well this is one of those subjects, that I, even with all of my degrees and such ... I just can't wrap my head around explaining it perfectly to you. I guess that's what links are for!

Let's just put it this way, a combination of: fruit, gas, fermentation, constipation, pelvic rotation and inflammation can be causing your back pain. I don't think this article will provide the answer to everyone's back pain, but for some ... maybe so!

The article even suggests that a "pooping situation" or "lack of pooping situation" might be responsible for weight gain. So! Without further a-doodoo, click here.

Fit Beauty: Natural beauty products that make you feel great

It's funny how different people are about their bath time routines. I have plenty of friends who like nothing more than to soak in a hot bath for half an hour, while others want to get in and out of the shower as quickly as possible. I fall somewhere in between -- there are times when my muscles are screaming for a hot shower, and I take a little longer than normal, but there are quite a few times I'm in and out in very little time.

What doesn't change, however, is my love of good products. What's a shower (or a bath) without a shampoo that smells amazing, or a soap that's totally invigorating? And, of course, it has to feel great on my skin.

Lately I've been hearing a lot about Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps. The company has been around for 60 years, though only recently have they gone from being a cult favorite natural food store brand to being embraced by the masses. The products are completely eco-friendly and certified organic as well as fair trade certified. Besides all that goodness, there are over 30,000 words written on the labels of all the products epitomizing the founder's beliefs -- makes for good reading!

Foods for fabulous skin

Following a balanced diet improves your overall health. Proper nutrition not only helps you feel good, though -- it also helps you look good!

According to the Mayo Clinic, a diet rich in antioxidants has a protective effect on skin. And, the good news is that these foods that are good for your skin are also good for you in general! Conversely, certain foods actually seem to be related to skin damage. The Mayo Clinic says that a diet high in meat and full-fat milk can increase your risk of skin wrinkling.

To find out what you should be eating to keep your face flawless, check out our gallery.

Are you washing your face with lighter fluid?

Ever read the ingredients on your beauty products? Our friends over at The Beauty Brains recently did and found that one Oil of Olay product contained a surprising ingredient--Butane, aka that stuff that goes into cigarette lighters.

But is washing your face in butane safe? The brains seem to think so -- while it's not ok to wash your face in lighter fluid, having butane in your face wash isn't a problem. Butane is used as a propellant in aerosol cans, and that's about the end of it's use. Once it's exposed to air, it quickly evaporates and most likely doesn't even end up on your face.

Interesting, huh? The Beauty Brains have lots of inside info to share -- head on over there to learn more about your beauty products.

You're 20% prettier than you think you are

Pop quiz: On a scale of one to 10, how attractive would you rate yourself? Got a number in your head? Ok, now take that number and add 2. That's how attractive you are to others.

No, seriously! Research out of the UK has shown that on average, others see you as 20% more attractive than you see yourself. Why? Well, it's no secret that many of us are our own worst enemies. But there's another reason: When you look in the mirror, all you see is your looks. When others look at you, they see your personality shine through. Think about it this way: When you look at a photo, you only see a person's physical features. But when you meet them in real life, they're much more dynamic and that ultimately affects how you view them.

How attractive you appear is largely based on your confidence. Take this as a mini ego-boost and hold your head a little bit higher today.

Naked push-ups

How do naked push-ups sound to you? Well, let me tell you, I just got off the phone with a colleague and friend, Dr. Jose Antonio, Ph.D., FACSM, CSCS, Chief Executive Officer of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) and one of its co-founders. We were talking health and fitness when he brought up something a fellow fitness pro, Suzy Favor Hamilton does and recommends on a regular basis.

You got it. Naked push-ups.

Before showering each morning, Suzy -- an elite athlete, makes a habit of dropping and doing 20 push-ups. It's simple and it may sound silly, but getting down and earning a good shower each day seems like a great idea to me!

Naked push-ups are smart for two reasons. They create a habitual time and place for you to make push-ups happen. Second, it seems as they would force you to get in touch with your body at least once each day. Do you like the way your legs hold firm as you go through the motion? Could you work on trimming down your tummy so it doesn't touch the ground first? I imagine that naked push-ups would give most of us the motivation to choose the right foods and pursue even more exercise as the day progresses.

Bye bye green hair!

My five year old daughter's beautiful light blond hair has turned the most not-so-beautiful shade of green. Ugh! We swim a lot. We live in Florida, and that's what we do almost every day during the summer. Her hair has been pretty green for about two weeks now, and for about the same amount of time I've been looking for the special swimming shampoo that's supposed to get the green out. I checked three pharmacies, one Walmart, and two grocery stores with no success. How frustrating!

Fortunately, today I stumbled across the ultimate score in 'get the green out' shampoos at Target.. Suave has a cute little kids line of hair and body products that are tear-free, smell great, and sell for less than two dollars. And! They've recently added a special shampoo to the line which is designed to remove chlorine from cute little heads of green hair. It's called Suave Swim and Sport Flippin' Citrus 2 in 1 Shampoo for Kids. We've already used it, and we love it! So....if you are Going Green in a way that has nothing to do with the environment......give this stuff a try!

Total Body Training on the Trail

Of course going jogging on a trail is a super form of exercise. I specifically like what trails have to offer hips and ankles over a flatter surface. The inconsistency of the trails' surface causes the joints in our lower body to constantly adjust which makes them uniquely beneficial for strengthening hips, knees, and ankles.

Trails are also great for other types of training as well. I think Women's' Health magazine did a super job of taking a few simple items we'd all eventually stumble across while trail running, and turning them into fitness equipment. As your fancy online Fitzness Trainer, these are the types of skills I want you to learn.
