"Personal Training With Jackie: Crunch-Free Xtreme Abs" DVD Review

It only makes sense that the cover of an abs-focused workout video shows someone with, you know, great abs. And when I think of killer abs, Jackie Warner is probably the first person who comes to mind -- her midsection is crazy cut!
"Personal Training With Jackie: Crunch-Free Xtreme Abs" includes two segments, a 16-minute standing workout and 17-minute floor workout. Light handweights are used, and, as usual with Warner, she has two helpers showing harder and easier versions of each exercise.
I've been impressed with Warner's other "Personal Training With Jackie" workouts, "Xtreme Timesaver Training" and "Power Circuit Training," so I was definitely excited to check out this DVD.
Level of Difficulty
Intermediate.
Next-Day Soreness
Very little.
Who's It For?
Warner's fans and those seeking a couple of quick abs workouts that can be added on to the end of a full-body workout or done alone.

I enjoyed the pace -- it seemed like we stayed on each move just long enough to make me really, really happy to move on, but not so long that I couldn't stay with each exercise from start to finish. The two segments were vastly different, which makes the DVD feel like a smart buy. I found the floor workout to be far more challenging than the standing workout, but, then again, I did them back-to-back, so I'm sure my midsection was a little tired by the time I got to the end of the mat work.
And, as usual, I liked Warner's approach -- she's positive and encouraging, but she pushes you, too.
Dislikes
OK, I know the title says crunch-free, but some of the floor work consists of modified crunches. They were effective, though, and fairly short-lived, so I'm not going to complain too much.
Bottom Line
It's a good abs workout, for sure, but not quite as tough as Jillian Michaels "6 Week Six-Pack." I'm sure that Warner uses a lot of these moves to get her rockin' core, but don't expect to do this DVD a few times without doing other workouts and have similarly amazing abs.
