Nobody can say Fisher isn't a brave, tough woman. She's been candid about her experiences with addiction and bipolar disorder in her books, the semi-autobiographical "Postcards From the Edge" and her 2009 memoir, "Wishful Drinking." And though she describes herself as generally fearless, she admitted to Us Magazine that stepping on the scale truly frightens her. By committing to a lifestyle change with the weight loss program, Fisher hopes to leave those fears behind.
"I have been on every diet in the world, and look at me. This is the sum total of what that's amounted to," said Fisher. "I haven't been able to enjoy what otherwise is a good part of my life because so much of what's on my mind is about my weight."
Like her fellow celebrity Jenny Craig spokespeople Sara Rue, Valerie Bertinelli and Jason Alexander, Fisher will appear in Jenny Craig advertising. But unlike the others, she'll be using the new Metabolic Max program, which includes wearing the BodyMedia FIT armband. In fact, Fisher has already lost 12 pounds since starting the program just after Thanksgiving and is looking forward to meeting her goal of 30 pounds.
