Kirstie Alley is back with yet another weight-loss announcement: She's on a new diet regimen, and she's over halfway to her goal.

"THE GOOD NEWS....I've lost 50 lbs!!! THE BAD NEWS...I have 40 more to go!!! ...lol.....at least I'm more than half the way there!!," Alley tweeted on October 4.

Her plan? Organic Liaison, a diet program that the 59-year-old actress created herself. Launched in March, Organic Liaison's goal is "liaising people from conventional eating habits to healthier organic ones while losing weight and supporting the body 24 hours a day, seven days a week."

Alley developed the plan with scientists, doctors and nutritionists. She points out on the web site that it consists of "natural dietary supplements, organic weight loss products, diet supplements and natural food," not "meals that I can keep in my closet."

Alley has been been very open about her weight-loss struggles, using humor to deflect the media attention that surrounds every pound she gains and loses. Or as she says on Organic Liaison web site, "You might know me as an award-winning actress. Or as that fat actress that gained weight and then lost it, then gained it again, and who appears weekly on the cover of 'The Enquirer' in really ugly fat photos."

She is currently starring in her own Lifetime Networks reality show "Kirstie Alley's Big Life" which follows her life in Hollywood and -- surprise -- struggles to come down from her height of 228 pounds from last year. She gained 80 pounds after she stopped being the spokesperson for Jenny Craig in 2008, when the company hired Valerie Bertinelli to take her place.

Alley recently turned down a spot on this season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" because she was "way too chicken." Too bad, she could have pulled a Kelly Osbourne! That doesn't mean she's not incorporating exercise into her weight loss regimen; She recently tweeted, "SIGNING OFF TO WORK OUT AGAIN..my arms are killing me..."

Who inspires the two-time Emmy-winner to keep on track? She told People magazine that it's her fellow dieters. "Thousands have now had huge success with my new weight loss program," she said. "Nothing makes me happier than reading about their extraordinary triumphs...They inspire me to continue on my own journey and I am grateful for them."

All that hard work has led to an incredible fifty pound loss, but the war's not over yet. As Alley said on Twitter, "I'm far from SKINNY....but I'm at least far from Shamu ...no insult to Shamu intended."
