The US Open kicks off Monday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York. There will be plenty of drama as the men's side is up for grabs and Belgian star Kim Clijsters returns to defend her title in the women's draw.

Prince, one of the leading names in tennis, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Today, Maria Sharapova, John Isner, Gael Monfils, Sam Querrey, David Ferrer, Juan Carlos Ferrero and Mike and Bob Bryan all hit the courts with a Prince Tour Series in hand.

But the racquet isn't only for the pros. I love tennis and was raised on it. My mother won the New England Championships and my uncle taught tennis. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are my favorites!

Tennis is my absolute favorite sport!! I started playing 3 years ago & wish that I would've had the opportunity to play when I was younger. I play 3 times a week with a wonderful group that spans in age from 35 to 83+. I just love playing. It's a fun, competitive sport that you can play at any age. And it keeps you young!

I love tennis because it's something we can all do with little or no skill to start. It can be a family activity or something I practice alone in my spare time- there is no wrong way to have fun when you're playing!

I love tennis for the social nature of the sport. It's a great way to get together with friends and get some exercise. My boyfriend and I try to play at least once or twice a week.

I play tennis 3 times a week(2 USTA and 1 Interclub Teams) and love the game. i enjoy the workout, the stratgey that one uses to win, the socializing with friends and the relase of adrenaline when you slam the ball. It has been one of my favorite competative sports. I also love watching the Pros and going to some of the Opens.

Tennis is my bag! It is the most awesome sport that anyone can play for a lifetime. I met the most wonderful people and friends playing the sport. I currently play year round, indoors and out, promote the game in my hometown through clinics, parties with my usta league. I have been playing for 7 years and don't plan on stopping any time soon.

I grew up playing and watching tennis, and I've always loved it. My family has an annual tennis tournament that brings over 30 family members together to compete, cheer, laugh, and bond. I love that tennis can be both an individual sport and a team sport, and its a game about both power and finesse. I love that the pros have so much heart, which you can see when they play through serious cramping and seemingly endless matches (like Isner and Mahut at Wimbledon!). I don't play tennis for the exercise, I play it because I love it, and burning calories while playing is a bonus!

Tennis is not just a sport its a way of life. Take the ball on the rise, dont get caught in no mans land, keep moving, stay focused. I've played tennis since I was teenager, went to tennis camp, played in high school and still have love for the game. My brother is coaching at a university. Its his life and nothing gets him more pumped then talking about his players. We both enjoy the game and plan on playing till our arms fall off... shout out to Boris Becker, J-mac, Matts and Richard G. Maloney (thanks coach)
