New weight loss surgery says goodbye to the typical incision in the tummy. California surgeons recently removed 80 percent of a patient's stomach through the mouth, saying this alternative route is a safer procedure because it reduces the risk of hernia and pain.

"We are getting closer to weight loss surgery with no scars," the lead surgeon said.
