The statistics for childhood obesity are scary: One-third of all American children are overweight or obese. That's why Michelle Obama started her "Let's Move" campaign to stop these numbers from growing by helping children get active and stay healthy.

One part of her plan is to eliminate food deserts, or areas without a supermarket or access to fresh produce. Some of the most rampant causes of obesity are large portion sizes, consuming high calorie snacks and too much sugar. Let's Move hopes to give families access to healthy foods that can help to positively influence kids' diet habits.

"Our kids didn't (become obese by) themselves," Mrs. Obama said at the National PTA Conference. "They don't decide what they're served at meals. They don't go shopping. We make those decisions. We set those priorities. We're the ones in charge."
