I am 5'2" about go from 160 to 180. Right now I'm at 160 and want to continue to lose. I've seem someone that has lost over 100 pounds and they have loose skin around their stomach area. It is so ugly that I would rather stay over weight. My question is does that happen to everyone that loses weight? Are there exercises that can tighten up the skin too? Please let me know what they are if there is some. I'm just worried about having to have an operation to remove the excess skin. My problem is mostly in my stomach area.... It looks like these exercises will help that but I'm worried about the excess skin. Thank You
Back in the day when I was younger we did basic exercises--sit-ups, push ups, jump rope, and a choice to run/walk the 440 track and of course great stretches after your gym class was over--why now after all these years does everything have to be so complex--fancy moves to basic stuff--maybe if someone could come up with a great workout with just basic moves--people would enjoy excercising more--I also fine that just doing a great walkabout--also gets you into the spirit of being more active--and that could be the key to a healthier life change--or riding a bike whether on the go or stationary can be good too! just to add this as well---A friend and I were talking last night--we are thankful that we were children of simpler times--times when you did'nt have to lock your doors, you could walk to your friends house without the fear of being kidnapped or rapped, you always had good food to eat cause there was no fast food restaurants, plenty of home cooked meals,we did'nt have computers or all the fancy technology so we were always outside playing, using our imagination, we lived in an era where the air was fresh, land was plentiful and families meant everything, theres so much more to mention but don't have the space but I think you get the picture--we now surround ourselves with greed and being selfish and all the simple things in life that made everything so great went to hell--now take a good look around the world today and you tell me if you like what you see--whats going on in your backyard??
Robbin, Im right there with you. Was 286, now 231, I would love to lose more and walk 2 miles every other day (almost lol). I am so worried about the skin, especially now that I am 31 and my skin is losing its elasticity. My multiple stretch marks have turned silver white and my skin looks a little lumpy in the fattiest areas. As far as I know there it no exercise to remove or work out the skin and most Drs want you to be at a certain weight for 2 years before doing the surgery. I do know a woman who lost about 100 lbs, they removed 12 lbs of skin when she had her surgery, she also got a breast lift and had her stretch marks lasered off. She can now wear a bikini.
