A recent study published in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention, provides further evidence that this popular brew can help prevent cancer -- particularly tumors in the head and neck. While previous studies have also suggested a potential advantage for coffee drinkers, this study found a 39 percent decrease in the risk of developing cancer of the oral cavity and pharynx for regular consumers.
"What makes our results so unique is that we had a very large sample size, and since we combined data across many studies, we had more statistical power to detect associations between cancer and coffee," lead researcher Mia Hashibe told AOL Health.
