Whether you're a fan of Bhangra beats to whip you into shape or Retro-Robics to work up a sweat, there's something for everyone at SELF Magazine's 2010 Workout in the Park. The traveling event kicks off this Saturday, April 24, in San Diego, and then heads to New York City on May 8 and finishes up in Chicago on May 15. Tickets are $20, which gets you into nearly four hours of classes, and the proceeds go to two nonprofits, Cancers and Careers and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
If four hours sounds like a long time in a CRUNCH gym class, don't fret. Most of the classes are only 20 minutes long and there are lots of other goodies to check out while you're there. From mini-facials and SOYJOY bar samples to trying out the latest ASICS and aerie f.i.t. activewear, there are more than a dozen sponsors with offers and samples.
You can order tickets online (or on site, although some locations, like New York, are prone to sell out) and check out the full list of classes. Keep in mind that if you want to try urban rebounding (low-impact cardio on mini-trampolines), those classes will fill up fast and are on a first come, first serve basis -- so get there early! The ticket also comes with a year subscription to SELF.
And don't leave early, because Jennifer Aniston's yoga trainer Mandy Ingber will be on hand in all of the cities to wrap up the afternoon.
