Fit Clips: The Best Costume Races on the Planet
Posted on Apr 9th 2010 3:00PM by Kristen SeymourAerobics instructors and jazzercise devotees back in the '80s had no idea how much joy their perfectly feathered hair, matching leotards and corny commentary would bring to us in the future! At That's Fit, we're rounding up a few of our favorite funny fitness videos. Some are the real deal, while others are purposely playful, but no matter what, they're sure to bring a smile to your face. If you have a favorite, please share it with us!
Some races (and runners) are made to be taken seriously, but others? Well, they take a different approach, worrying more about breaking into laughter than breaking a record. Here are a few races the hilariously-inclined might like.
London Marathon
Sure, plenty of people take the London Marathon very seriously. But, in this video, you'll see that plenty of others see it as a great excuse to dress up. (That being said, this is probably the most normal we've ever seen Katie Price look!)
Medoc Marathon
Medoc is a race based on fun -- in fact, a good 90 percent of participants dress in costume! Taking place in Bordeaux, of course there's wine (before the course, after the course AND during). There are numerous other refreshment stands along the way. Hey, a runner gets thirsty over 26.2 miles!
Bay to Breakers
A warning: This race (and this video) are not for the prudish or faint of heart. There's a lot of beer, a lot of elaborate costumes, and a LOT of nudity. It's kind of like Mardi Gras, but in San Francisco. And a race, so that means it's healthy, right?
