Review:
The staff at the Downtown Durham YMCA is extremely helpful and friendly. There is a small parking lot in front and plenty of free street parking surrounding the facility. This facility upgraded the locker rooms and weight equipment earlier this year.

There is a wide arrange of group fitness classes including aqua aerobics, Zumba, spinning and step aerobics. Classes are offered daily. The facility has basketball courts, free weights and weight machines. There is a variety of cardio equipment including treadmills, recumbent bikes, spin bikes, step machines, ellipticals and more. There are also locker rooms that have showers, sauna, hair dryers and swimsuit spinner dryer.

Childcare is provided at no charge with membership (for ages three months to 10 years) and takes place on site at the Y-playhouse. Various activities offered to keep kids entertained include games, arts and crafts and educational computer activities. There is also a Wii room, but availability is spotty at best.
